Recalling my car !!

I have a brand new Astra SRI 1.6 and i get a phone call this morning to tell me to take the car back to the garage where i got it as the "Reverse gear shift" is faulty and can go at anytime, But it can't be done until next week. I asked if it was dangerous and was told "No it isn't", Although with them saying that, i was then told not to do any long distance until it has been fixed. Now surely that's a danger to me and my children..... (Crackling)

As there is a "fault" are they not obligated to loan you a courtesy car ...... although I appreciate this might not help the situation either - good luck with battling them

Happy new year, It is a disability car so parts are being ordered as quickly as possible, it's strange though because Pork and I have been driving around we have seen a couple on the side of the road with the RAC !!

Ring insurance company tell them they may get you a car and claim back from garage i would not put myself or anyone at risk.

Teach you to buy cheap car

If may be that the reverse gear shift fails in a non-dangerous fashion, i.e. car simply stops moving in reverse or is just impossible to engage it.

Rather than something like the gear suddenly engaging and sending you backwards at 15 mph.

You are right it just stops going into reverse and as such you are stuck if u have not reversed into car parking space.

You are right it just stops going into reverse and as such you are stuck if u have not reversed into car parking space. "

You can't push the car then

Whilst its not ideal that this has happened the company are sorting it as quickly as possible.

I have a brand new peougoet And it got recalled it was a fault in the model but mine was fine it mite be the case that there is nothing wrong with yours just being safe
