Negative comments by people who have ZERO interest in the forum topic!

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Is anyone else absolutely baffled when people do this?

Just for an example I'll use

"Feet fetish".

And someone comments eeeuuw I hate feet!

So they ACTIVELY clicked, on a forum with "feet" in the title.

They read through comments by many people on the topic of "feet".

Then post their negative comment on "feet".

If feet repulse you so, possibly stay out of repulsive forums. Lol.

That was just an example. Other kinks, fetish, topics are accepted.

I get what you mean but then even though they know what they're doing, they play innocent or act like the offended party are the problem. I suppose that then opens up the conversation of freedom of speech vs potential consequences to that freedom.

It’s fab mate.

I notice the same.

Example 1 - ‘Thread saying name an x you like’. First post is someone saying what they don’t like.

Example 2 - A woman posts asking other women for opinions . First post is from a man.

Just roll with it.

Another poster used to complain about this all the time and challenge people about why they decided to post on a thread they obviously had no interest in.

Then without even the slightest hint of irony she would often pop into threads about local updates just to say she had no idea as she never looked at them or threads about hotpics to say likewise while simultaneously telling others to educate themselves.

Apparently she didn't believe in the principle of practicing what she preached.

Oh I agree but at that point if they play the freedom of speech card they should own it for what it is, either intent to cause offense or hit a nerve. I'm all for people stating they don't like something, just not to belittle people for it (have been guilty of it at times in the past myself and dislike that I have)

"Not for me" and "eeewww gross not for me" say the same thing essentially, the later clearly attempts to belittle and takes longer to say.

No one has a right to go through life and have their position on all things fêted and to never 'feel' offended.

Which is not the same as hoping to have people not treat them cruelly.

Let's be real, nothing in life pleases all comers.

Have your preferences, enjoy what pleases you, and don't be a dick about it whichever side of the fence you find yourself on

If you post on a topic, you KNOW you will get opinions from both sides. You KNOW you'll get jokes. If you don't want that, don't post. Go start an invite only fb group for only those who share your likes.

Don't whinge.

I think it's a weird one though because a lot of people revere this place for being able to be open about their sexuality and sexual adventures so when you post about it and see people not only giving the opinion that it's not for them, but being rather sneery the same way people would in the "vanilla world" then I get why it's a point of contention. People can make jokes, but then they shouldn't be the same people to spout the "be kind" diatribe when it suits them.

Here and There

"So we can only comment if we totally agree?"

It depends on the kind of post. Not everything posted in the forum is intended to start debate (lots are). Some are posted to find like minded people or to share a fantasy etc.

If the thread is headed ‘Big Nose Appreciation Post’ and the OP says ‘I proper love folk who have really big noses, it really turns me on. I’ve started this thread because I’d love to find other folk who also think big noses are sexy, to talk to. Or to see if there is anyone who has a big nose who’d like to make themselves known so I can look at their pics’ then that’s not posted for debate. If you’ve not got a big nose or don’t fancy people with a big nose there’s no need whatsoever to comment on that thread. But invariably someone will say ‘I’ve got a really small, cute little nose, check out my pics’ or ‘Urgh, big noses are awful’.

There’s no need for it, I don’t think.

From what I have observed OP in my time on this site Is that there are many people who like to do this purely to get a reaction out off others…

For instance someone could start a normal harmless none controversial thread or question be it swinging related or none swinging related..

Things could be going okay in the discussion and then boom someone walks in and has nothing to contribute other then something harsh or just down right arsey or you can end up having a lynch mob appear out off nowhere ganging up on one person..

We all have different ways off communicating some people can be more blunt and to the point so to speak..

People are going to disagree or want different things debates can be civil or sometimes healthy as we are all wired differently it’s only when people start going way below the belt and personal then it gets out off hand..

Funny you should bring up Meets OP, a fair few off those individuals still do get or do well with meets you have to remember people from all walks come out with plenty off negative things and still do well..

Might put some people off or deter others away depending on what has been said or done but I’ve seen a fair few off them do ok..

Doesn’t matter to me though there are people on here I have zero interest for quite a few personal reasons given what they have come out with in the past repeatedly on here that when they have tried to talk to me I full on just stop them there and then and say I have absolutely zero interest in ever conversing with them in anyway shape or form be it on this site or face to face at a swingers club etc...

A few off them have had surprised stupid looks on their face but when I pointed out to them about exactly some off the vile things they came out with not once but repeatedly over and over again time after time on those specific subjects…

As if I wouldn’t find out what their really like? I could care less what gender they are if you generally irritate me to that point I have no time for you..

People in the past and sometimes present ended up pissing me off to the point where there was a time I had more people in mind I disliked on here and I honestly at the time wanted to head butt them in the face if I ever crossed paths with them..

BUT…….

as satisfying as that would be it’s not worth it life’s too short no point in me personally doing stuff like that because all it’s going to lead to is trouble for me in the long run so sometimes I just have to take the good with the bad and move on..

As someone who hates scrolling it is a little tiresome scrolling through a thread for people's tales about the OP and seeing loads of "this thing does not interest me but I'm putting my name down anyway " comments.

I've probably done it myself, to be honest, but I usually skip past things I'm not interested in.

Unless, someone is asking opinions in a do you like or dislike tone.

If someone says who likes sniffing knickers, there's no point me saying not me, I'm not a knickers sniffer.

Then I go and look for threads about fat women getting all the sexy me. Cos that's me.

A forum is for discussion and you can’t have that without different opinions.

"But most this posts are actively asking for opinions on something. They shouldn't get precious if someone disagrees with them. Variety is the spice and all that."

"I agree with you by the way OP. Absolutely unnecessary when people do that and the biggest bug bear of mine is when it happens in football threads. You always get at least one person talking how crap it is etc instead of just letting people enjoy things."

Does everyone have to agree with you then

"Is anyone else absolutely baffled when people do this?

Just for an example I'll use

"Feet fetish".

And someone comments eeeuuw I hate feet!

So they ACTIVELY clicked, on a forum with "feet" in the title.

They read through comments by many people on the topic of "feet".

Then post their negative comment on "feet".

If feet repulse you so, possibly stay out of repulsive forums. Lol.

That was just an example. Other kinks, fetish, topics are accepted.

"

I make you right op. It is puzzling how some people contribute or seek pleasure from being negative... Some clearly attempted humour I guess but I've seen some who just don't like the thread and try and close it down. And keep coming back with more. To each their own I guess... I suppose its why some online people stay away from others and gravitate towards different ones.

I make the mistake of thinking a thread mimics a real social interaction, say in a pub but its something else entirely.

He clearly didn't say that.

It is not about agreeing or disagreeing.

It is going in to a thread that is not about asking for opinions if they like football or not and among a discussion of transfer fees randomly spouting "football is shit" or "football fans are pricks" That is intent to irritate and cause conflict because nothing about the thread invites their post, nor does their opinion stated contribute to the topic.

And football is just one example of many. As I said in my own post further up, most of the time it comes down to not just showing agreement or disagreement but going that little bit further to insult or belittle those that like something you don't.

"Wow. When I first posted this topic, I never knew people could be so complex, or that I'd need an advanced psychology degree to understand the needs, of certain human minds, to make an irrelevant point in a forum.

I stand corrected.

(Tho I still lean towards my original theory that some people can be arseholes for rhe sake of being an arsehole )

Nevertheless thanks for all the comments and education guys "

OP Look at it like this chief everyone has a different agenda or persona so to speak, doesn’t necessarily mean you need an advanced degree etc to understand it…

Some people I don’t know one or some days certain subjects could have personal or professional experience with something be it positive or negative and it can equal to their response depending on how they come out with it…

You could get somebody who one day is angry or unpleasant due to something happening or an event taking place/stress etc or just life circumstances…

And then the next day they apologise or are pleasant and forthcoming and meant no harm etc in it or are just in general have more good days then bad.

It’s the repeat offenders who repeat over and over and over again to just purposely be controversial or provocative you have to watch out for ideally…

But then again who am I to talk? I sometimes express things a bit too deeply as I rarely speak with anyone on here anymore so sometimes I spend more time thinking/reading I could be seen as a bit harsh or confrontational even to some so I more then often don’t engage people as much in conversation as I used to..

Here and There

I think there should be a section of the Forum for appreciation posts. A space where people can happily discuss their admiration for whatever it may be, without the thread being derailed.

The other sections can be/are all used for debate and invite all opinions, but the appreciation posts could be for just that.

So is there a difference between an op grenade launcher and a johnnycumlately launcher?

Many threads are started to generate negativity.

Some are more subtle than others and when subsequent comments go against the grain the op feigns offence.

I'll admit to challenging "lovely" threads when the ops forum history is inconsistent with the point they are trying to hammer home and my experience of their PM engagement reinforces that.

Please can we have a "cum lately" thread? It's about the opposite of premature ejaculation

Good point...

often or not things are taken in stride or say in a civil manner but it's human nature sometimes it's being online and the anonymity which can bring out the worst in some people...

when people are like that or you feel its getting a bit much its especially important in times like that to sometimes think twice before going overboard or too far..

easier said then done, then again you sometimes think fuck it and end up just taking turns ripping into one another until say Moderators or Admin staff step in to make it stop...
