I had a phone call from my aunt earlier to say my Nanna (Dad's grandma) is in hospital and its not looking good. She's old but after losing Dad I was so dreading losing another family member. Tonight I need a cuddle, its so rare for me to say that but I'm in need of one tonight.

Thanks everyone. She's the matriarch of the family. She's a proper Eastend battle axe, wouldn't divorce her husband back in the day so he couldn't marry his girlfriend! Last time I saw her was at Christmas and she wasn't great then to be honest. Just feel crap.

Weigh up what it would mean to you if you did not get to see her again. I was in that position once and I regret to the day that I did not decide earlier to travel.

Not the start for 2013 that you were looking for.

As mentioned, don't drive while in a state.

And I know it is a long drive but will you regret not going?

I've spoken to the hospital. She's stable tonight but the infection she has is aggressive. The consultant is seeing her in the morning. I'll know more then. Thanks everyone particularly to roxy for chat on the phone and cali for being there.

ur loses r heavens gains they needed special angels,dont think there not around u just because u carnt see them.there will be smells that appear from no wear that remind u of them.5yrs ago i lost 7family members in 7months 1 of them the father to my 3 children.its hard at times but i have fantastic memories an thats what keeps mean my kids going .big hugs to all that need 1 xxxxx

I'm not going to be able to. I just spoke to my grandpa who said not to come down. They've no idea of time frames but that coming down will only upset me.

I trust my grandpa. He will be totally honest with me and I don't like the thought of her lying in a hospital bed. I will take his guidance on it. Its bringing stuff about my dad back too which is hard.
