"No it's childish

Yes, exactly this. I block if I got polite no thanks,

not for me. And it’s not because I am angry or annoyed and don’t want them to see my profile. It’s because I don’t want them to appear in my search or local updates so I won’t contact them in a few months again. Should there be a feature on this site like mark profile as “not interested” that stops it from search and local updates - my block list probably would be empty.

It's been said before but yes, I block, it stops the same message one or two weeks later, where the sender has forgot or i get a second message asking why? Then a third asking but you never know? Try me out, then a forth message with a cock pic.....

I dont need to explain myself my profile explains it.

I block if there's no pic, intro, or if they've not read my bio. It's not personal per se. I get a lot of traffic and find it a necessary strategy. Also, taking no for a final answer isn't fashionable around here ime... I'll often respond politely first though.

"Well it can be a good idea, so you don't msg them again in the future"

My thoughts. Saving everyone's time.

We got blocked yesterday as someone had sent us 3 exact same copy and pasted messages in the space of 2 weeks and after replying the first time to him saying he’s to far for us he continued to send we asked why he keeps sending the same message and he called us rude and blocked us

If I get a no thanks politely or otherwise or deleted with no reply I block them. Not out of malice it saves me wasting my time or theirs.

I haven’t blocked anyone so don’t know how you would unblock, I guess I will have to just make another account

Anyone else using this thread to see if they've been blocked by the prolific blockers? Oh, just me then.

No ,I'd just write a profile note so I didn't make contact again.I only block pests or anyone who might annoy me on my updates.

"A few days ago I unblocked all the blocked folk from my profile.

So far it’s made absolutely no difference. I haven’t been inundated with stupid messages or dick pics and the status updates page isn’t annoying me. But that will change.

Thank you. I can now perv again on your white ikea chest of drawers

Oh you swine!!! Haha excellent spot but I’m afraid I’ve just sold them.

I’ll up my game next time!!

Block button is a site tool. If I'm not interested, I block. Saves so much hassle.

"When the person replies, saying

'not for me, thanks' or, words to that effect?"

You can make a private note to remind you why not to message them again.

Otherwise you could block to prevent them coming up in searches.

Or you could just block because they hurt your feelings!

Only people I block are the ones who annoy me. I have very good patience so if you get blocked by me it's means you are extremely annoying

Only block people who interact inappropriately, have extreme views or leave their messages unread for long time even though they have been on several times. Why would people block someone just because they viewed their profile is not something I understand but each to their own.

I block profiles that I have not interaction with if they appear in my local updates but we aren’t match e.g. profile says no bi guys, looking for black only, bbc or their pics are off putting to me. Nothing personal, I just don’t want them pop up in my updates and clear space for others

nae danger.

I've only blocked a few people on here and normally it's for persistent messaging when I've made it clear im not interested etc (was before I realised you could filter messages from blokes) never blocked anyone based on there updates or interactions on forums or if locations make it highly unlikely I'd ever meet said person anyways as not a profile nosey arse tbh rarely check profiles here tbh even locals

Sorry but if I dont want certain groups of people looking at my profile, I will be very trigger happy at using the block option from their profile.

"I block if..

They don't appeal

They don't entice

They have a shit profile

They're too far away

They clearly haven't read my profile

They annoy me just by messaging

They don't have a profile pic

They have a profile pic I don't like

They send a crap message

They barely send a message

They wink repeatedly

They have new/I've noted often profiles

They live too far

They don't accomadate

They sound like a knobhead

I don't like their body

They have veris I don't like

They're too new

They live too close

They live too far

I'm just plain old fuckin not interested "
