Had the first naked sunbathe of the year at lunchtime for an hour in the back garden and it felt absolutely wonderful.

I can believe it. the last couple of days the old currant bun appears to have started seriously climbing up the apple pie.

I reckon it is roughly equivalent to the same angle it was in late October, although the air temperature is generally colder than in the autumn.

i was sunbathing for two or three hours a day back in October but the hour shift was different then. The secret at this time of year is to remember that midday is at 12.00 not 13.00 so get out early.

Me too and I didn't need my scarf today but I did keep my gloves on because it was slightly chilly.

Don't remind me!

Since I retired in 1997 I was going to the west Indies every January/February. usually Tobago sometimes twice and occasionally another island. This went on until lockdown, during which my passport expired and I haven't yet been over to my home island to renew it.

I used to have a head start with a tan, albeit not quite all over, ready for the Eureka sunbathing season which then sees me through until October.

I could not live all year round in the tropics as I don't want darkness at 6.30 pm every night of the year, or high humidity for that matter. At least going there in winter you get a few more hours of sunshine and everything dries quickly.
