"They should ban all food and drink in cinemas. The smell is disgusting and the noise is annoying. If people can't cope with sitting quietly and not eating for 2 hours..... it's ridiculous. " I agree. There were times where I thought it should be against the law to bring in hot food into cinemas.

Does that include the rancid hotdogs that big cinema chains sell in their foyers or is that different? My assumption is the hot food ban has always had slightly self-interested roots.... G

"We go to the local Everyman cinema that serves hot food and delivers it to your seats (along with cocktails). It comes on a plate and tray, is easily hidden away when you’ve finished eating and the trays are collected once everyone has gone (by well trained mice I imagine). " Stuart Little!

"When it comes to this cinema policy that prohibits hot food from outside establishments (like KFC or Mcdonald's for example), I feel sorry for employees that have to deal with customers that get pissy when they're told they can't eat their food in the screen. Either the customers don't know or just don't care about this policy. Heck, they would even sneak hot food in bags which just shows they don't care. Sometimes I think, why do cinema employees like me even bother upholding this policy if customers won't abide by it? Might as well scrap the policy altogether and let these entitled idiots eat whatever they want." ah so are my friends entitled idiots that have allergies and can only eat their own food. Our local cinema let you bring in

I think we should have people line up to sit silently, to contemplate the meaning of life and what they can do to stop wasting time. Obviously this silent contemplation is best done on an empty stomach, nil by mouth and sat on the cold, hard floor

"Last time I went to the cinema some greedy oik had piled his food crap onto my pre booked seat, the filthy looks he was giving me as I made him move all his detritus was death inducing. Just move it without the attitude, I even gave him a baby wipe to wipe down where his greasy detritus had been. Absolutely no need for it " Oh my days that is so weird!! I’m quite bad as I do like a snack and when I was a kid my parents would give me and my siblings grapes/soft sweeties in with us. Occasionally we would have money for popcorn. Generally if I have food in the cinema I would eat it during the commercials as I feel so bad if the movie was on and I was rustling! I actually haven’t been to the cinema in forever though!

"I like eating while watching a film. It’s part of the experience of going to the cinema for me. Cinemas sell the food so I buy it and eat it during the movie. Of course I could go 2 hours without food and I regularly do but I enjoy my popcorn and snacks while watching a movie so il continue to do so. " My kind of people

It is perfectly possible to eat and drink and enjoy the film in a considerate manner. Unfortunately many don’t, They make excessively loud noise when eating and drinking and make no effort to not impact the cinema experience of others. If you are one of the considerate ones that is good, may others follow your example.
