"Could you all be doing something to prepare you for when the work does start? I would never send a work team home because of lack of work. There is always something that can be done. I have lots of team building exercises I do for organisations but you should not be at bitching in 3 days. It sounds like the managers need some guidance before you launch into team building." There are around 30 staff who have all been there for 3 weeks already and only so much cleaning an empty unused brand new nursing home needs doing. We have already completed a full week of training and we all got on brilliantly. I had two weeks 'off' as i had made plans prior to even applying for the job and were Ok'd when i was offered the role. Think its because the staff are just sat around tables with nothing to do. Ive been there 3 days and visibly there are two groups and friction. Its just boring and demoralizing to be sat around. Its bad and ive only been there 3 days, let alone how the others feel like that have been there 3 weeks | |||

Its bad and ive only been there 3 days, let alone how the others feel like that have been there 3 weeks " Talk to the managers about additional training together - in things that may not be directly related to the role but that you would all find useful. Assertiveness, problem solving, time management etc. You could each take it in turns to deliver two or three hour training session so you all develop some presentation and training skills too. | |||
