Anyone know anything?

I know of hive but that’s the only one, just need a basic one so when I leave work I can pump the heating up and enjoy walking about naked!

Why can't you just set the boiler timer?

Smartmaster easy to use and registers when you're near home and turns on automatically

We have a Nest one, works well and was easy to set up. No subscription needed either.

How near to home? 12 miles or 2 miles?

We have a nest too, and it's fine. But wish we had invested in programmable room thermostats, given the price of gas now.

Theres a few different kinds out there.

Nest is the common simple to use.

Honeywell total heating control is another, i use it.

You will need a controller to the boiler, which will turn on the heating from the WiFi unit.

You then either have WiFi thermostats on the radiators which are individual control, or set each radiator valve to a set temperature

I've got a Tado. It's great as you can replace your valves on radiators with smart ones so you can heat each room individually

Nest is a bit shit and i've lost connection numerous times, as well as had to have the thing replaced due to a total failure. The control, reporting and programming features are a little bit sparse for my liking too- which could be sorted with an app update, but can't see that happening.

Not sure if the Hive is any better, but if i was installing now, id certainly consider that over the Nest

I've had the Google "Nest Learning Thermostat" for five years now and have had no issues with it whatsoever.
