Your perfect date

There’s been lots of dating threads popping up and I have been thinking more that I might want to actually put myself out there a bit and even go on a date….maybe!

But what would be your ideal idea of a date be? Obviously it depends on the person you’re on the date with and that kind of vibe you have with each other but this thread is all about you

Do you tend to go with the more traditional dinner and drinks or do an activity of some sort? Set the scene for me as I’m in a romancey mood

My old go to when I was in London was the Tate Modern, do an exhibition and have a chat in the members bar after. Always thought it was a good place to out uninteresting people. Didn’t like the art, no problem but why didn’t you like it? Got an interesting answer, on to a winner.

Cheeky detail is that it closes pretty early, so if the dates a dud, you’ve got an early morning. Date goes well, let’s get some late dinner.

I've had some charming dates alongside rivers, in Botanic Gardens, on riverside walks, in pubs, restaurants, museums...I think, as with gifts, the most important thing is not the place itself as much as the idea that it is personally-chosen to suit the person you are with.

Oooo I like this idea! I would be so keen for that actually! I would be the silly one though making up my own interpretations of the art as I’m not very good at being cultured but I guess that’s part of the fun of this date! Plus always got talking points if the other person isn’t very chatty

Not long ago had the most perfect dates. One in a very cozy pub with a fireplace and fairylights and another one in a natural history museum. There's no one size fit all, but knowing the person you're taking on that date and their likes, it's usually a good indicator.

I would probbaly enjoy a walk somewhere, not uphill unlesss you dont mind carrying me when I start wheezing and my knees creak. Take in a pub on the way or a little tea shop.

Depends on the season but as spring is coming up a nice walk by a river or in some woods with the spring flowers out and if we want to carry it on a nice country pub.

Oh yeah, silliness just adds to the fun. If arts an interpretation of life, there is definitely some room for a few giggles.

Silliness is equal to or greater than actual art critique

Aww a botanic gardens sounds lovely! To be honest the times that I’ve actually tried new things where I love have been on dates, normally I’m so bad at actually exploring and appreciating what is around me!

But yes it does depend on the person

First date... Always just a coffee, maybe a walk in the park/beach/gardens.

After that, the zoo, a gig, a show... Not really a fan of dinners.

Or sometimes just by accident & chance. That’s a good date!

That is beautiful, yes, when you that kind of serendipity. Or, if it were me, more likely just accidentally screwing up by walking in the wrong direction. I am quite capable of ending up in entirely the wrong place. I like to think I'm also capable of making the most of wherever I am.

Perfect date?

That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. It's not too hot, not too cold...all you need is a light jacket

One of my best dates was just that….

Hilariously - I would never have known had he not told me because I’m thick.

But if someone tries to take you somewhere they genuinely think you’ll enjoy, or should see…. Perfection

Well I love quaint country pubs, so my ideal date would be chatting over a few drinks, getting to know one another, then a quiet stroll ,then take it from there
