Meant to be having a lay in this morning and a horrid vivid dream woke me up in hysterics, my worst one yet

But my question is, do you dream occasionally, all the time or not at all?

When you do dream are they usually good, bad or mixed?

I hate how much I dream sometimes, I wish we could turn it off.

I don't dream every night, but when I do they are usually pretty horrific and violent. They been like that for as long as I can remember.

I have recurring dreams of being chased a lot, start off fairly innocent and end up looking like a horror movie.

My dreams are fun.

Other than peoples faces I can never remember my dreams. That’s probably a good thing because I am a little twisted.

I very rarely dream. Well, I must do to some extent but I very rarely remember them.

Recently I've been having rather peculiar and fantastical, occasionally terrifying dreams.

My mind is clearly a very odd place when trying to work out my thoughts on/process things

I think your lucky not to remember them! I'd rather without them as when they are bad, there bad if you know what i mean.

My partner is the same, hardly dreams and when he does he hardly remembers them.

Yeah, I think a lot of it is your subconscious too.

I also think it is a lie that they mean something. How can a horrifying dream mean something

Extremely rare for me to remember anything I’ve dreamed about.

I can’t even think of a last time or anything meaningful to write about.

Yes! I definitely think what you've spoken about/watched/listened can find its way into your dreams in a peculiar way. Like a boarding school with a gorgon.

All the time, mostly very lucid. I like dreaming a lot, I like the bit where you’re just awake still processing and it turns into dreaming and you try to hang to the links but it dissolves

Also have dreams within a dream where I dream I am dreaming..

That really messes with your mind as you wake up as you were in the dream wondering if it's a dream..

Takes a few minutes to work out if I 'm awake..

Plus I can taste, smell & feel in my dreams..

I dream a lot and my dreams are often weird and wonderful (but very rarely frightening). A good number of them are sexual/erotic including people from my past (and a few go into "forbidden" areas). The mind is a strange place.

I used to dream a lot in my 20s +30s - often nightmares and would wake screaming and slicked with sweat

I don't think i dream anymore... I wonder if its a change in hormones?

Omg I hate that because I feel like I can't wake up from them and I'm fighting with myself.

Oh really, it's mad how far it can go for some people. Can't say I can, that would be cool.

They say you can learn to control them by lucid dreaming but don't know how true that is, not looked into it.

Mine have always been so vivid, hope it changes when I get older.

Top 10 dreams

Teeth falling out - worried about attractiveness / appearance /said something embarrassing / loss of assertiveness

Being chased - inner conflict that we are unable to face that remains unconscious

Unable to find a toilet - struggling to express your needs in a certain situation

Being naked - you feel like a phony / afraid of revealing your imperfections and shortcomings

Failing exams - lack of confidence and inability to advance to the next stage in life

Flying - feelings of freedom + independence or a desire to flee or escape from the realities of life.

Falling - symbol of fear in real life, something isn't going well and you need to change it

Crashing a car - represent direction our life is taking - need to get back on track /take control

I've been having dreams within dreams recently and when I finally wake up my head falls off wondering if I'm actually awake or not haha.

Woke up in a dream the other day and couldn't feel my arm, then when I woke up again but for real and I could feel my arm I was soo confused.

I wonder what factors in your life affect your dreams, for example I never ever watch TV, only the occasional series like on Netflix. I tend to just sit and game most nights if I'm not out so the majority of my dreams are fucked, like weird shit about zombies, guns, volcanoes seems to be a common one haha.

Carlisle usually

For years I didn't dream. Or at least didn't remember it. Last summer a lot of things happened and one of the medications I ended up having to take had a known side effect of night terrors.

I didn't have night terrors as such, just the most incredible sex dreams. I'd never been happier to sleep.

I stopped taking the stuff after a few weeks but still sometimes I wake with that tail of an intense dream lingering.

There is a lot of stuff on the net that can help understanding dreams and their cause ,not sure if some of it is gobbldygook though! Sleepwalking can be dangerous at times, waking up miles from home happened to me once .l think it depends what is happening in your daily life that causes them,as previous op said trying to think them through before you fully awake might help some.

After a tough period at work l woke up once with a load of filler made up at the bottom of my bed , phew ! Serious stuff .

Yeah, I've read some stuff about what they could mean but not delved too deep into it, just some stuff can't be explained though surley i.e mine last night!

Someone hurt my daughter in my dream and it was a race to get to her to help her and it was hard because everything was slowing down so I couldn't get to her fast enough

Definitely my worst dream yet and I've had a lot of bad dreams.

Dream vividly almost every night and tend to remember them clearly. This is sometimes a great thing sometimes bad

Currently the trend is to dream for a week solid about my family still being intact, being able to say goodnite to my daughter and wake her up every morning. Strangely my dad who died in 2015 is always there as well when I have dreams of that nature as if it’s not bad enough to dream of him be thing you miss mind says here have 2 for good measure. Those type I actually hate waking up from

Others are amazing often dream of being young out drinking with friends but the town I live is it’s same basic shape but most buildings have transferred into bars with lots of neon light all over, it’s always night time every bar we visit is packed everyone over the moon happy great times

All the time. If I'm anxious, I have a certain type of dream, usually back in school or dance, and doing an exam.

Quite often I'm being chased and shot at (maybe I just watch too many action films)

Frequent dreams about being naked in public or not being able to find a clean toilet (they all have meaning apparently)

I have woken up having panic attacks and crying when a dream has been particularly upsetting.

Last night I was dreaming about being at a friend's wedding.
