I just called my daughter's new boyfriend by the old boyfriends name. Ground just open up and swallow me now.

Please tell me I'm not the only one today putting their foot in it.

Happened a lot to me with my first boyfriend and his mum and dad, my name is very similar to hers.

If it happens once it’s a genuine mistake, more than that and it starts taking the piss

Carlisle usually

I don't think I ever call anyone by their actual name so that makes it easier for me to avoid.

Was a while ago now, but I was walking home from the pub d*unk one night and decided to text my gf at the time describing, in great detail, exactly what I wanted to do with her when I got home.

And then accidentally sent it to her boss by mistake

My best mate regularly calls my gf my ex wife's name, we actually find it funny watching him squirm.

I don't think that's too bad.

It would be worse if she called him her ex's name.

My ex wrote a text saying ‘my face still smells of you’…but sent it to a work colleague instead of me! Her name was next to mine in his contacts

I was venting about my boss today, saying how he's never there when you need him. Only to hear his voice behind me asking "who's never there when you need him". I was struck silent but luckily my colleague who i was talking to was quick as a flash and talked us out of the predicament but it was a close one.

I remember my mum doing that to my boyfriend. I was thinking “how can you be so stupid”. (But to be fair it was a fairly quick turnover!)

Then I did exactly the same thing recently. Thankfully neither my daughter of her bf noticed!

My mom has called me by the dogs name many times- even after i'd moved out and the dog had journeyed to the other side of the rainbow bridge

My mum would run through all of our names as kids. Sure she had to be right with one of them.

I'd not mind but I have a brother as well as sisters....

I’m moving soon and have cancelled my gym membership. This very day I emailed the gym asking them when my membership of fab would finish.

Clearly have spent too much time on this app!! I wonder if any of them recognised it….

I sent a message to my plasterer and put a couple of kisses at the end.
