Reports that a Costa cappuccino has 5 times more caffeine that Starbucks. No wonder Tom thought Starbucks tasted like warm milky water. What's going on here guys ?

And to answer part of your original question Tom, what’s going on here….the kettle! Decent cup of tea Tom, none of the chain cages make a decent tea! #supportyourlocalindependenttaxpayingcafeWhomakeadecentbrew!

Totally agree. Don’t eat there too often but McDonalds coffee not bad and fair price.

Derby

James Hoffmann actually did a test on this already for 5 chain vs 5 speciality coffee shops

https://youtu.be/_HvsxuM7ljs

I'm not sure about the exact science behind it but really interesting, especially since I found out my home brewed coffee has more caffeine in it than something I can get from a coffee shop

somewhere

Costa was the better , but in recent months they have changed something and the hot chocolates are beginning to taste crap , watery and barely chocolate . To the point where the costa vending machines in garages are better than the cafes .

In the west.

I always thought Starbucks had stronger coffee. Maybe I'm just used to Costa's coffee as I'm in one most days. I do think small independents have better and stronger coffee though.

I went to Starbucks and was offered a blonde roast.

Disappointed I realised after it meant something different than it does here
