What is your favourite city/area that isn't home, and why?

Ours is Newcastle (Yes, our location is there because we're there often ).

Every person I've come across in Newcastle couldn't have been nicer or more friendly. Everyone will willingly join in conversation with you

If it had more greenery I'd move in a flash!

I know I'm probably going to take brickbats for this, but for me my favourite city that isn't home would have to be...

Hull.

No. I am not kidding. It's about as opposite a city as I can imagine from where I originally hailed from. But my most formative years were spent at uni there. That and the best swinging years of my life. And it meant something. It still does even now when I'm down south in Bath. I've still got friends there. Memories too.

Helps that it's bloody cheap living there too.

Deepest darkest Peru

I enjoy visiting York, always lots to see and do and London is also a firm favourite. Not your usual tourist places but meandering down lanes and alleys you can find some hidden gems

I plan on York later this year, want to go to the Viking exhibits and just wander the streets.

I love Edinburgh.

I like roaming the old streets and exploring the dark history together with a wee dram at Bobby's bar.

I plan to sometime in the summer! Just have to save up for the trip up north as train ticket prices are ridiculously expensive as it is without a direct train from Bath to Hull. Makes me miss First Hull running direct to London King's Cross to be honest!

Luss. Beautiful scenery, on a bright sunny day you can go to the beach or even a cruise around Loch Lomond and its only half an our from Glasgow City centre.

Lexington Avenue!

You just gave me flashbacks. And not in a good way. In a PTSD way.

Tower For An Hour oh god, heard so many stories about that even though by the time I was in Hull that didn't exist anymore (became Funktion for a while, then pretty much died afterwards).

Agreed, when I was younger and still living in Edinburgh we always found we had a better night out in Glasgow. Like you say just a great atmosphere, friendly people, great venues. K

Tricky I like the wilderness of Wales but the beaches of Cornwall.

Think it’s Cornwall purely for the additional sunshine and the creamy clotted cream
