We've never done anything for Valentine's day. Our Anniversary is only a few weeks before it so we usually go all out for that instead.

Our anniversary was this past weekend and we celebrated it by going away for a dirty weekend, which included our first Swingers Club visit!

Was it successful?

I can’t lie. I find it pretty low mood inducing

Once when I lived at the ‘Bunny Ranch’ (a big shared house full of 10 single women with a pool. Except instead of being in LA…Surrey) we had an Anti Valentines, where we all had prosecco and steak together and had a laugh. That was the best one

Perhaps you could make some special plans for those days?

Go to a place he liked, for the day? Or eat at a restaurant you both enjoyed? Invite a friend or family member and remember the good times you had there?

Or…go somewhere you’ve always wanted to try. Make some new memories, while commemorating your love.

A nighttime date, a romantic meal in a lovely restaurant and back to mine for desert.

If it was a "fab valentines" it'd have to of course be a double date with a lovely couple. Drinks, good food, relaxed conversation, then a chatty walk back to the hotel

I shall be going to our special spot both days to lay flowers and to sit with my memories. I've purposely got a lot planned for both days so I'm not sat dwelling to much

nice cozy meal at home, as per usual.

I hate the way we are almost forced to be lavish on that day, won't buy into all the hype.

If you fancy chatting, let me know. My beloved passed away in May last year. Been through birthday and Christmas.

On her birthday I went to visit her grave, left flowers of course, and then to see her sister who lives near there. Just a quiet day remembering.

I’m out for dinner with a group of besties , all single bar 1 couple and one of my sisters who is not currently talking to her husband ….

The joy of married life but as long as they’re happy ( it’s a recurring occurrence, they might have made up by then )
