Private Shops, not that I went into them when I was younger. Every city and town of note had one tucked away on an ever so slightly run down road just a little out of the centre. Years later I was to find that behind the blacked out windows was an Aladdins Cave of sleaze. Also, they all seemed to have a calor gas heater in them.

There's one still in south Wales. With a calor gas heater going strong.

It's been there for as long as I can remember. I don't know how it still makes a living with all the porn online these days.

So it does...although it's just a small handful of stores now.

Apparently there's one within 10 miles of me, but all the others are so far away.

In its heyday HMV was a prominent feature of my town centre, it's closing made the local news.

Thank you, that’s explains it. It’s a little sad to see the huge Debenhams premises on our High Street here. It is being converted to yet more restaurants and cafes.
