.

Are you thinking of staying within Europe?

Croatia is beautiful, there's a lot of lovely architecture in some cities, it's quite cheap. In a similar vein there's also Portugal.

But if I had to choose somewhere - Italy. If you book flights and hotels now you can find some absolute bargains, trains are speedy and efficient, good food and drink isn't expensive, lots of history, people are friendly... obviously some areas are more expensive (Rome, Milan, Amalfi Coast) but there's far more to it and such differences amongst the regions.

Also, depends on the part of Italy you wish to visit, it gets awfully hot at that time of the year...But I've gathered from experience that is something that doesn't bother you brits

Ha! It really doesn't does it? I think a good time of visiting Italy is May, the weather's great and not unbearable, flights and accom are cheaper than later summer months. I'm going to be checking out flights for my own trip probably tonight!

Never been to Croatia but always fancied going somewhere like that.

Some say Bulgaria is good. ..

I do fancy Vegas, but not certain will have enough pennies saved up by then.

It is a beautiful time indeed, I'd say March-April is also a lovely time to visit southern Spain...not awfully warm, orange trees start to blossom and the air is just beautiful.

I am jealous, Meli. I have been trying to arrange a trip for just myself for ages...This might be the push I needed

Croatia is stunning, the south west of France has everything, the Canadian rockies, something different is Belize second largest barrier reef in the world, Mayan temples, tropical rainforests

I enjoyed Portugal, southern Germany

To be fair, there is so much I could do in London...I just don't enjoy the huge crowds though

Yes crowds aren't good, I remember going away in October once to a Spanish resort and hardly anyone there, just a bit too quiet.

I adored Iceland Solo in May. Lots of backpacker hotels to choose from and the day trips were awesome. The only thing that annoyed me was the 24 hour daylight. I'd go better prepared next time as sleep was limited

Some great ideas ,still undecided where to adventure, need to save a few more pounds up for certain ones.

I wonder about going on holiday on my own, I mean, you've really got to pick the right place.

The hotel I stayed at in Spain last year with a friend, the bar was dead, nobody really out in the town in the evening..somewhere like that on your own would be quite lonely I imagine
