Lidls for the win.

Aldi doesn't have any vegan products at the store I've shopped at, and Lidl has a reasonable few vegan items, so as I'm trying to eat more plant based, it's a no brainer really.

Well! I’ve actually noticed quite a variation in availability of products as I travel round.

But, in general, Lidl seem to stock much better and varied items than Aldi now, can’t remember the last time I went in to the latter for a loaf and came out with a random canoe or chopsaw

South Oxfordshire

The Aldi in town is not a nice shopping experience,if you buy fruit and veg today your chucking it out tomorrow cos its gone off and the till experience is just a joke. Your lucky if there's 2 tills open but always 20 or more people queuing and when it comes to your turn the shopping comes at you so fast they might as well throw it at you.

The last time i went in there to do any shopping it was that bad i walked out and left all the contents of my trolley on the till bagging area after it had been scanned. The manager chased me out to the car park and started giving me a lecture about 'you can't do that, you need to pay for it and take it away' why the fuck should i pay for broken and damaged goods that weren't broken or damaged when i placed them on the the conveyor ?

Its a joke in there, they don't give a toss about the 'customer experience' just meeting till item speed targets, i'll never use an Aldi again after that.

Lidl on the other hand is much better. We don't have one in town and the nearest is in the next town 6 miles away and i use that regularly, fruit and veg seems to last much longer and staff on the tills are much better and don't hurl your shopping at you as fast as they can. It's worth travelling to shop there.

Lidl for the better middle aisle selections but generally I prefer to support Aldi because they don't operate two tier pricing incentives.

In Lidl I particularly dislike their crass self promotional announcements made in a special equal opportunities female, somewhere from the north of Watford, chirpy lassie, voice.

I reply loudly "Ah, shutt upp Lidl" in a suitably bogus accent of my own!

True but I never get anything from the bakery after seeing the imbeciles picking stuff and even squeezing bread etc with their hands and also seen flies flying about and sitting on the pastries. All lidl bakeries abroad have the baked stuff in protected containers.
