I once saw a sign on the side of the road in a lovely rural area in Derbyshire

The sign was in the middle of nowhere and was of wooden construction

The sign said

Please do not throw stones at this sign

True story

Anyone else know of any witty or completely pointless signs?

I posted this exact reply somewhere else in here. But….

There was a real roadsign where roadworks were going on and it said CATS EYES REMOVED to warn about the road having no cats eyes.

Further down someone had put their own sign to say THE MICE ARE VERY HAPPY
