Kinda. If you get the comic gags.

Games, comics, films, tv, etc

I even have a comic character costume

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I am a sci-fi/fantasy geek, I played D&D when I was a teenager, I have read most of Brief History of Time, and get the physics jokes on Big Bang. I watch Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, and most Marvel films, and read 2000AD.

I can also fix most problems on a PC without resorting to percussive maintenance, and know what LOL, ROFL, BBL, AFK, and BRB mean when gaming. I read several webcomics and Bash.org, and reference TV Tropes, Agony Booth and Cracked.com when I can.

Luckily, as I also have sex from time to time and don't weat glasses, I am not a nerd, just a geek.

I'm a proud geek, but am not into computers, science, games or gadgets.

I do have a Masters degree in history and philosophy, read non-fiction for pleasure and wear NHS-style specs.

Anyone for a discussion on merits of Camus's absurdism over Satre's existentialism?

I used to always be called a geek at school, I was quiet and studious. As I got older I still remained studious, in fact I enjoy learning. I came out of my shell a little in my later teens as I was part of a debating group and became quite vocal in whatever chosen subject I had.

I am more of a reader than a gamer though have at times been obsessed by certain games.

My all time favourite game is Mahjongg and I have to limit myself with it

I'd give google a whiz for a definition, but if there's something that you'll happily natter on about for hours, that most people would regard as boring, you're likely a geek on that subject.

Oh yeah, and anyone using a big-name Linux distribution has probably made use of my contributions there.

I can do that on one particular subject but would consider myself more of an anorak. Enough to know that the question masters completely fucked up on one of Adam Buxtons questions on celebrity mastermind. I was outraged

I always kill my sims if they piss me off. I usually wall them in and set a fire or take away the steps to the swimming pool.
