Thanks my dude, good to know there's many of us nerdy folk on here.

We've been playing DayZ a bit lately, surviving in a zombie filled world.

And used out Lovense toys while play Overwatch, that was a lot of fun.

I'm currently shooting people/animals/ anything that moves in Far Cry New Dawn.

I havent bought any games in years now.

As I refuse to buy anything I dont own and something that I cant sell.

A plastic dvd case with just a card inside of it is not worth the 30-50.00 price tag.

never mind the addons as extra payments.

Not when they can be printed for less than a pound.

The last online one has just gone as I refuse to install a tracking, telementry software install for windows and has nothing to do with the game itself.

Don't get it on last gen, get it on ps5 or xbsx/pc. The performance will be a lot better. Also if you are a completionist, the platinum/1000gs takes 110hrs so you've a lot of game to enjoy

Good game but there is too many customisation options for an arcade racer. It belongs in Forza 7 etc but Horizon is meant to be a pick up and go racer.

We game on PC, Xbox, Switch, Quest 2 and love retro from our childhoods. I say we - Fumble plays the most, I've just recently started playing Xbox and have absolutely fallen in love with Hobwarts Legacy. Fumble says it's one of the best single player games he's played so it must be doing something right! I love playing Beat Saber on the Quest and have been known to play it very naked which is quite liberating lol.

We also run a big online community for nerd/geek culture on social media so have a close tie to gaming through that as well.

I've got a quest 2, motion sickness is bad for me playing Walking dead. Apparently chewing gum can help but not tried it yet.

It's completely unnatural to be walking about without legs moving, if I stuck with it then probably improve over time.

It's so cool, it's mindblowing seeing the how tech stuff works to bring the game together...I love that more than playing games.

I follow his company on social media and they are always putting out videos and content of how stuff works behind the scenes, the photogrammetry and motion capture stuff is incredible to watch.

Prior to that he was in Edinburgh as lead of the script team working for the guy responsible for GTA and Red Dead Redemption. It's a crazy world no doubt

People don't often have a clue of what it takes to create a game such as GTA...let alone the upcoming genre of openworld games we see.

To put it into context say you have a field of grass as a scene. Each blade will take about 10 hours worth of code...longer and a bit more tech involved if you want the blades to move in different directions, the little things that the player may not notice...

I know that games in the style of Ready Player One will become reality very soon.

I follow his company on social media and they are always putting out videos and content of how stuff works behind the scenes, the photogrammetry and motion capture stuff is incredible to watch.

Oh for sure. I saw a clip from a Todd Howard interview not long ago about how he laments just how long it takes to create games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and talking about Elder Scrolls VI that's it's frustrating during all the development phases because he's just so excited and wants to play it.

I think what we're seeing at the moment with AI created digital art and stuff can and will bleed into the gaming development industry, and while never be replacement for man-made media, the possibilities of animation speed and workflow compression is extremely exciting!

My tiny claim to video game industry fame is that I used to work right by the place where all the LEGO games are made, and saw the young programmers and stuff come into the shop everyday for their lunch etc.

Absolutely, it's an exciting time for the industry on all levels for the creators who love taking their content to other levels of play and for the players who are accessing someone's life work. It really is an artform and can be taken in any direction.

That's so cool! When my boy was at Uni one of his mentors was a guy from the studio of Minecraft, he was lucky enough to be shown around there. Now he is the mentor and was invited back to his uni as an industry professional, he loves it and hopes to become a lecturer when he has achieved all he wants too

Mine is I had dinner with Leslie Benzies ex president of Rock star North, writer of GTA and Red Dead...he took myself amd my boy out for dinner when he first moved fo Edinburgh as a welcome. Lovely man, and super passionate about his upcoming project and it does look awesome...Gave my lad an amazing start to his game development career

They really are, the games that were a prerequisite to the open world content we see

The developers of Resident Evil put together a documentary of how the game was created and was the first game to use photogrammetry technology, it's a fascinating watch...

You'd be suprised how low spec machines can still play some of the popular free games such as Fortnite, Apex, Team Fortress, Csgo, Minecraft, Roblox, Paladins, Realm Royal, Valorant, Zula, Rocket League etc. Mates i7 2600, 16gb ram, ssd, gtx 1050ti system does him well.

Yep, developers have a target market and know that not everyone has the latest spec equipment, also indi developers are more inclusive...

Steam is a great place to look at free to download games from indi developers who just want their content out there.

I recently returned to BioShock 2 to 100% all the DLC and now I'm playing through BioShock: Infinite for the first time. Mixed feelings so far. Don't like that there's no manual saving, nor that there isn't an in-game map to help exploration. Seems quite linear and combat / enemies seem limited so far compared to the Rapture games. Hoping it opens up a bit more later on?

PSVR2 for me. Res Evil Village is amazing and terrifying! Star Wars is pretty good. Townsmen is a nice, chilled Populous-like game that works really well.

Pavlov is something else. Never had such an intense gaming experience especially in an FPS.

I've gone Retro and starting a playthrough, start to finish of StarCraft, then on to Brood Wars, the SC2

mightr take me a while, I find myself replaying maps because I don't want to lose even a single unit, even though there is no in-game reward for that, and its not set up to work that way...

If you have a passion for gaming and a little technical knowledge then you could be a quality analyst they get paid to road test the games

I dug out my quest 2 today for first time in about a year, nothing wrong with it when I packed it into box but when I took it out my elite strap had been hit with the common fracture issue so had to tape it together. Unfortunately it's just outside the 2 year warranty they give because of known issue but I've sent them a email in hope that as was January it expired and it's not been used they might change it anyway.

How the hell can it break when it's hardly been used and sitting in a box?

It’s been awesomely nostalgic whilst feeling very fresh and gorgeous as well. I was a little bit put off by the Merchants new voice acting but it started to remind me of Ian McShane in Deadwood. He was amazing in Deadwood.

"Resi 4 remake is pretty awesome. Fair playZ they need to do the upgrade on the first game now. Been loving the resident evil remakes. 2 is still the best. Even the ps1 version.

Played the demo and watched a few vids, the game engine is darn good - demo runs lovely on my low end system

From what I've played and seen they've really done it justice

Haven’t got stuck into a good story driven game in a long time, recently been racing on f1 22 closing up a racing league before the next game comes out in a couple of weeks

Yeah, I did the same. Spent lockdown playing Sea of Thieves, decided to stop and catch up on some single-player stuff and accidentally started playing Fortnite! A year later and I think I'm about done with it. Wlden Ring and Jedi: Survivor are my current go-to story-driven games.

Really looking forward to the new game, I do league racing and on f1 22 it’s been so hard keeping pace compared to the last couple of games
