Little but of butter and egg in a ramekin, cling foil. Can't remember how long for. Never as good but quick and tasty.

Yep, a little poacher cup thing.

When I was younger I used one, opened the microwave and the egg went pop in my face, hurt like a bitch

I asked someone in my younger days to microwave me an egg and it blew up !

I was banned from the premises and I've never considered putting an egg in a microwave since.

But with this knowledge tonight I feel like a new man.

Nearer than you think

Ramekin, knob of butter, crack egg into it and PIERCE THE YOLK. Cook in 10-15 sec bursts.

Perfect for a breakfast muffin.

I've got a microwave egg poacher. £2 from B & M I think. 1/4 fill container with cold water, microwave 1 minute. Crack eggs in and microwave 1 minute. Done. 2 eggs and perfect every time.

Poached is my favourite way to cook an egg. Still use an old fashioned egg poacher. Another way is to get a glass with cling film over the top,buy not taught. Crack the egg inside and fold up the sides. Twist the top and drop in a pan of boiling water
