Kindness and politeness doesn't cost anything.

I can never understand why people are so rude on here.

Because like most of the internet, it’s easy to be abusive and get away with it.

I don't think people need necessarily be kind to each other but politeness isn't difficult to practice.

What seems to be the problem op?

Can you give an example of what you feel is rude?

Not everyone is like that. I (LB) treat anyone I interact with remotely exactly the same way I would if they were sat beside me.

You said "most" which by my understanding of our language means nearly everyone. If you'd said "some" instead then my post would have been slightly different.

Most does not mean everyone.

Why are you offended?

Without more detail it's hard to comment.

On here the things you state are sometimes attributed to people who simply ignore messages, decline to meet, disagree in the forums or do nothing deserving of being labelled rude, unkind or impolite.

But it's also certainly true that there are some people in life who deserve neither kindness or politeness.

So you'll need to be more specific OP if you want meaningful responses to your statement.

Because it's easy to be a twat with relative anonymity

I don't strive to be kind, but I do strive to be courteous and respectful. Basically you get from me what you give out

I agree, manners and kindness are important, but it also depends on what you are defining as ‘rude’. If you mean someone ignoring messages or choosing to not respond, or being blocked, that is not rude, it is every Fab users prerogative.

It’s only about 1 in ten. So the majority are not nasty. don’t worry about it, just report them.

Here and There

I think people’s perception of what is polite and kind on here depends on how they’re approaching things.

I find it really impolite when people message me without bothering to read my profile to see what I’m looking for. If I get those messages I ignore them. The person who’s messaged me probably thinks I’m rude for not replying.

It’s different depending on which angle you approach it from.

And then, obviously, there are the people who are just horrid

It's easy to be a coward behind a keyboard, but it takes a special kind of arsehole to go out of your way to cause a stranger distress.

Do they have moderators in pubs and similar contentious environments?

Because they can?

They don’t owe you anything?

They are responding in kind?

You are misinterpreting what has been said or done?

I mean the list goes on….
