Just saw this on the news. Is there anyone else here like me who hates the feeling of wooden forks.

Have you tried bamboo forks, as they are better for the environment and pardon my pun they're don't have that woody feel.

I love the fact we’re moving further away from needless plastic. If there’s an more environmentaly friendly alternative, we should be using it.

Excellent news that they are to be banned. Shame it doesn't also apply to supermarkets.

What we can't understand is how the average person uses 18 single use plates and 37 pieces of cutlery per year.

We don't use any at all, and can't remember the last time we did.

I carry my own straw, a knife & fork will be no problem. I won't eat with a wooden thing.

I read a headline stating that Mc Donald in France is moving towards non disposable for “eating in”, plastic cups , fries containers etc … Due to a new law banning single use packaging in fast food outlets .

I saw some pics , they look cool and people are bound to smuggle them out and take them home …

I would guess most of the usage is actually parties, bbqs, festivals etc? It’s easy to forget when you use them at those places.

Still not necessary, just lazy to use disposable stuff.

I eat out most days because im always out on work and I avoid places with wooden cutlery.

I'm all for what's good for the environment but I just hate the feel of wood. Spoons are even worse I'd starve first.

The little rough wooden ice cream scoops are the worst or lolly sticks. You are not getting that last lick
