Pretty recent if you’re looking to meet. If you’re not it doesn’t really matter.

Within the last year, as my wise fellow forumite Harlot said

It should show a true reflection of what you look like if you were to meet someone right now!

I.e. if you're hairstyle is different, or if as a guy you've got facial hair on some occasions and other times are clean shaven, the photos of you should represent your current appearance.

I've been catfished twice where I've met guys who have used older pictures of themselves, and not by a few months! One was using photos taken over 10 years prior! And needless to say, he had changed a lot in that time.

Depends.

If you still look the same it really doesn't matter how old it is. If you don't? Update it, whether it's your face or body that's changed.

If you ate your own bodyweight in selection boxes, pigs in blankets and mine pies in December.......get snapping.

Definitely within the last year - ideally 6 months. I like to see an active profile (pics/veris/updated text) or I tend to pass it by

Depends upon how quickly a person changes from appearance. But an update is still nice so others know so prob every 3,6 months

It shouldn’t be a time thing; you should take a new picture of yourself once your current picture nolonger represents how you currently look. Such as you grow a beard, your picture shows you as clean shaven or you get fave piecing and your pictures shows you as not having any....

I think up to a year is way too long. People can change huge amounts in a year.

Carlisle usually

I just uploaded new pictures whenever I'm feeling pretty and have some passable shots from getting ready for meets or clubs lately.

If someone is interesting in conversation but their photos are old I can always just ask them for a more recent one.

In the calendar year.

Those of you that haven’t put anything up since 2022 get your arses in gear.

That’s a year ago now!

Also everyone puts their best pics up. I think I look much fatter in real life than in my pics even though they’re pretty recent. I rarely put the bits I don’t like in a pic and if an arm is looking particularly bingo wingy I’ll chop it out of the pic . Very rarely show my tummy either so basically I’m probably nowt like my pics

I cant cut all the bad bits out there'd only be my eyes (I think they are passable)

People could upload a pic to fab today that they took 5years ago and it'll have today's date so that doesn't guarantee anything for me. I'd always have the thought in my head they could be kidding themselves and/or me that they look the same. It's not always catfishing, it can be self-denial.

I only meet after chatting. Chatting for me naturally leads to sharing random pics in text. Not necessarily rude ones, just chatty ones to see them as they are whilst we chat. I like to ask them to 'show me you'. It's lovely to have that added aspect. One step away from a videocall but you can carry on with your day as you go.

I'd wonder if they couldn't participate in fresh pics during chat. Red flag.

Thanks OP, don't want people to be thinking I'm not Bob the trucker looking for a quick fuck in a layby.

Sure thing. Make sure you clean up after yourself though, you wouldn't believe the state some people leave it in.

Agree 6 months to a year. But also quality matters too and accuracy. No filters in terms of changes to face/body (blurring identifying decor or tattoos I get) I once got sent a supposedly recent face pic that was clearly a screenshot of an old printed photo that was clearly taken AT LEAST 20 years ago

Don't think it's really critical, lots o here re-upload old photos (I have for forum photo challenges). So it's not something I pay much attention to
