Deodorant and anti perspirant

Just wondered if anyone has tried any of these fancy natural deodorants and anti perspirants. And soaps for that matter? Any recommendations?

Basically for as long as I can remember I have used Sure for men. In the last few years it’s been the green one. Just recently in the last few months the old pits have started to become itchy like I have had a reaction to it. I don’t know if they have changed how it’s made or anything but I am now struggling to find a good replacement that works as well. I keep getting Facebook adds for soaps and stuff but wondered if the great fab folk have anything they recommend as a deodorant and antiperspirant.

And to be clear. I won’t be using lynx before someone suggests it ha ha

I had itching and switched to the dove maximum protection twist up one. Not the solid stick, the cream one. It has 1/4 moisturising cream and its really helped.

I actually ordered one of them yesterday. I noted the moisturising aspect. In desperate need of some for my face as well lol. I should just drink more water.

Some time ago I decided to stay natural, and ditched the anti-perspirant, relying on my manly pheromones to attract a woman.

It was a disaster of course, I reverted to Mitchum the very next day.

I don’t use anything at all, I shower twice a day and use chemical free sea or coal tar soap that I get from Amazon, use it on my hair too, no chemicals on me

I'm not sure what it's called, but the one which looks like white soap. I've always found them better than sprays.

An old American hobos trick ( that works)..is..

White vinegar or lemon juice..

I've used white vinegar spray (£1 shop) since I read about it.vineger smell goes in seconds.

Both acidic to stop bacteria.

How is coal tar soap not a chemical? Do you know how soap is made?

I find I need to switch brands regularly or they lose effectiveness or I get irritation. No specific loyalty, just bog standard antiperspirant in the supermarket

Occasionally I go natural for a day if I know I'm not going out

Step one, keep pits shaved. Or at least trimmed very short.

Step two, keep fresh, showered/bathed, so no chance of any claggy build up of sweat, dirt, dead skin, skin oils...

Step three, find an unscented roll on that works for your skin. I use Simple, must be some other good ones.

Then either smell just of yourself (that's fresh yourself), or find a perfume/cologne/aftershave that works for you with your natural body chemistry.

I feel like I'm forever switching brands, may just be my own thoughts but my body appears to get used to them and then they don't work.

I avoid buying clothes which are made from polyester because it makes me sweat. Even if its 80% cotton and only 20% polyester it still sweats me. Its hard to find clothes which are not made from polyester these days.

Everybody's skin is different and sensitivities do change over time, this combined with what clothes your wear and what you use in the washing machine. The recipes in the soaps, gels and spray all make a difference.

I don’t like anti-perspirant, feels like spray glue! If you wear cotton not sure why you need it.

I use solid deodorants, convenient for travel and cheap. I like do like the lush one.

When it’s really hot like 35-45 I also use below the belt & spray Day2 inside my shirts and boxers before putting them on.

Some good suggestions folks.

Would be keen to learn more about the natural soaps. Been an imperial leather man all my life lol.

Went and got a mitchums one today. Just to be clear though folks it’s not the smell that is the issue. It’s that somehow I seem to have become irritated by what I have used for years. Now giving me a sore itchy pit (on one side only)

Nivea men cool kick is what I go for (purely for the scent) I prefer it to the sickly sweet womens deodrant. Perhaps maybe the cooler weather has dried your skin out a little, maybe try a moisturiser before your deodrant x

I’ve always used Mitchum. Never had any issues and I work in a hot industrial environment. Keeps me dry for the duration of my shift.
