I hear a lot of people talk about going to Thailand to meet a partner, or for boys holidays etc and yes it's great for all that and even I've been on boys holidays to Thailand and it was great (2016).

But aside from that element, the people are friendly, going from place to place the views are ever changing, the food is great, and of course the climate. After going the first time with friends and falling in love with the country I decided to go again, alone (2018). My reasons were because I knew I'd be comfortable, I knew I had missed something the first time I went and I knew I could achieve something.

I booked to go for 3 weeks, some for business and some for relaxation. I felt a peace whilst I was there, I explored places, sometimes I sat and people watched and sometimes I sat in secluded areas of the white sandy beach's and reflected. I gained a lot from this trip both personally and from a business aspect. I visited again early 2019 and I felt the same way about this magical place.

It gets thrown around Way too much that Thailand is a boys playground and it probably is, depending on where you go. But it's also a lot more than that.

Would love to know other people thoughts on this amazing country that is Thailand. I'm looking to go back, on business, next month, albeit for 5 days but can't wait.

You have to be very careful mentioning thailand and boys holiday in the same sentence

I absolutely love it, it's a beautiful place, as for the boys playground it depends where you go, it has its crazy party areas and it's quiet ones same as everywhere I guess.

I'd love to go back, hopefully when the kids are older.

Near Chester

I loved the quieter parts of the islands. I used to go to fast and meditate and did a few cooking classes out there too.

Absolutely loved the place and met some really interesting people.

I visited Thailand for my honeymoon in 1988. We had to get a boat to Koh Samui. No airport in those days

Krabi Island is beautiful. And really liked chiang mai.

We also visited a place that had sticky waterfalls that you could walk up, but can't remember where that was.

Ah yes, it's Chiang Mai. I went there too. I really enjoyed it. My mates an I went to a shoot range in Chiang Mai. It was so unregulated, it was unreal. Great fun though.

It doesn't appeal to me at all any country that has abject poverty but beautiful scenery just not my thing, plus i like to have things to do, i know people who live out there and when that tsunami hit had just moved so lucky but its a beach life sure i love the beach, its an outdoor watersports adventure i love outdoor watersports but other than that not for me plus I'm not a fan of thai food, sorry to be so negative I'm sure you see things in the place i wouldn't

Born and brought up there in 60s and 70s. Quite different to now.

Been back since as worked in SE Asia, so holidays and work in Thailand.

Personally I prefer Vietnam or East Malaysia (Sarawak).
