Advice needed

OK so last week I had a bit of a to do with a single guy via PM who I'd never met or even spoken to after he'd slagged me off on his status. I'm a fairly tough cookie but what he'd said was personal. I blocked him and reported his profile. Today he sent a message to a friend of mine saying he knows where I live (he described it to within half a mile) and threatening my job. I had issues with an ex in August and left fab because of him and went to the police and I'm not sure if it is him trying to scare me, I've no proof it is. It could just be that I've pissed off another person for some reason. I don't really know what to do as this guy has left the site now.

Advice anyone?

(Ruggers and HPC I really hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this I'm genuinely just asking for advice)

What did the police say/do?? Was your x on this site or did he know about this?

I'm thinking it must be your ex or a friend of his, or someone you have met previously at your house. (They appear to know your location and possibly your work details)

May be worth contacting the police again though, that's what I would do.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Did the friend get any other information? Just be careful and keep a record of anything odd that happens in case you need to go to the police.

He knew about fab and came to Cupids with me once. This guy has claimed to have been there this week and asked questions about me, I'm going to send messages to the staff I think. The police put a harassment order out on him, I've no proof its him so I doubt they can do anything.

Keep a record of things, maybe just lay low on here for a while..

Also if hes using a mobile app and you got location on, its easier to guess the rough area im guessing... Again i could be wrong.

It could also be someone that lives nearby using the who's near feature. They would be able to describe the area in detail if they are a local resident.

Spek to the officer that you dealt with last time.

Ip addresses etc can be traced which should identify if its your ex or not

I've met two guys at my flat since I moved in and I still meet one of them regularly and he's a lovely guy too so I know it won't be him. The other one is the aforementioned ex. I had to change my number when he kicked off on police advice.

I've just turned the who's near function off and changed my location to just North Manchester!

I would mention it to whoever you were talking about it before. Also as been said keep a note of anything. To be honest I think it's most likely just a guy that can't handle rejection

Not being funny but what normal person has time to make threats over a swinging site at this time of year.

As to his veiled threats about me lol I'll do my best Vicky pollard impression and say "bothered"

Cali

Go back to the police. I would consider that a threat. Personally I never let anyone threaten me. Unless this person is very computer literate they will left a trail that will be easy for the police to trace back to them.

All police forces have a specialist computer forensics dept they can call on if needs be. For the police to find out who this is it would be a doddle. I would report him just so he can be taught the lesson that you are not anonymous on the internet.

The police have ways of finding out if it is him or not. If needs be they can confiscate his PC and send it to computer forensics. Even if he has deleted stuff it is still there hidden.

go to the police and explain how you feel and they will look into it.
