Can be stand-up, tele or movies

Mine are both stand-up: Sara Pascoe is someone I've loved for a while. However, I've also just discovered Nate Bergatzi.

Really appreciate Sharon Horgan's work too.

What about you?

Micky Flanagan, he absolutely kills me. We used to love Lee Evans but he became very repetitive before he stepped away. We always liked Sean Lock too and Ricky Gervais deserves a mention.

My favourite of his....

In awe, I watched the waxing moon ride across the zenith of the heavens like an ambered chariot towards the ebony void of infinite space wherein the tethered belts of Jupiter and Mars hang, for ever festooned in their orbital majesty. And as I looked at all this I thought... I must put a roof on this toilet.

Titz Towers, North Notts

These are all currently working on the UK comedy circuit and regularly take the roof off. Most of them have material on youtube, too. For a tenner, people can have a night out and see talent like this in a local comedy club and they're often far better than anything that has been edited for telly.

Scott Bennett,

Simon Lomas,

Jeff Innocent,

Andrew Bird,

Diane Spencer,

I like many others but none of them will ever come close to the late great Mr Carlin.

For most comedians, I often take to specific jokes, sections or specific parts more so than their comedy styling as a whole.

couple, us we him her.

I think lot's are "of their time"

I remember when Eddie Murphy s Raw first came out and everyone was mad for it as a young dumb teenager I thought it was funny.

I've matured and recently tried watching it again and it was shocking made me embarrassed that I laughed at it.

Ben Elton was brilliant when the alternative comedy broke through.

Emo Philip's was a oddity.

However some don't age and will always be funny.

I like them to build a joke through the entire routine, stuff that makes you think that you are the only one who gets it.

Dave Allen was brilliant at this.

Not to keen on the sketches but his sit down comedy was brilliant.
