Afternoon all….

Do you have any tattoos?

Do you want to get any?

Will 2023 be the year you take the plunge?

What made you get the tattoos you’ve got….

What ideas do you have for future ink?

Just sat here all curious

I want my hand done asap and then start on a leg sleeve when I can afford it.

Large celtic cross on my back plus various dodgy black tribals

My legs have a cute ghostly snow white plus a faceless snow white looking out of a mirror along with a cute Alice in wonderland

Other leg has the Misfits album cover "Die,die, die my darling"

I just have a little house party scratcher on the back of my neck of a cell dividing.

Hoping to finally find an artist I like this year and get one big statement piece done.

I have a few tattoos. I got some of them done when I was really young and regret having them done. I have a one on my arm dedicated to my mum after she passed away which is my favourite I’d like to get more but don’t have any plans for new ones yet.

I have three. I've had one for 40 years when it was really unusual for women to have them. Tattoos in general weren't that popular in those days

Not all that North of North London

I have a few, I accidentally had a sleeve on my right arm which now also fills a big chunk of my back. The sleeve is Escher inspired but incorporates an old tribal one and has a section of geometric in it. It's very busy and was about 20 hours work, most of it freehand.

I have a chest piece on my left pecs which is expanding in to my shoulder and joining up with another old tribal design. And a few others ony left arm.

Next is a very simple piece on my inner upper righy arm based on am album sleeve by the band Frightened Rabbit. Which is one of the few that mean anything, most I just think look good

Being a biker in the 80's I have a number of tattoo's, forearms, upper arms, back and chest

due to the amount of people getting tattoos today I kind of regret getting them as everyone seems to get them today.

Hmm… on my hip could look nice, but it’s quite a sentimental tattoo so I don’t know if it would be appropriate to have it in a sexy location? If that makes any sense?

For my full leg it’s going to cost at least couple of grand and I can’t justify paying it when I could take the family on holiday for around the same amount .

Back of Nowhere and Beyond

I have a few. When I was slightly under 18 I designed one and decided if I still wanted it when I was 40 I'd probably be happy to have it for all my life.

So when I was 40 I decided I'd like to get inked... the stars and moons up my wrist and forearm are for my lost babies. Then 2 weeks later I got the original design done, and 2 weeks after that I got the fairies on my calf.

Then I added a few more when a tattoo artist friend was living with me during lockdown 2.

I'm glad I waited, and I have some further ideas.

Have often contemplated getting one, but never sure enough to commit to a design or whether it would suit me. Maybe 2023's the year - who knows!

I have lots, started when i was 16 and been adding to them ever since. Next one is booked for April.

Certain words/phrases make my skin crawl and when people refer to themselves as being “inked” i need an antihistamine. Same with the word “banter”. I must be a masochist, reading this thread

In general. Of course they look great on many people but I think the pressure of fashion has pushed others to have them for their own sake. Once any fashion reaches mass popularity it becomes less interesting to me at least.

I’ve only got the one but Wills got both sides of his arms and chest, one is the fun side pirate themed and me and the other a memorial to lost family, all done freehand just told the tattooist his idea and left him too it. I think good tattoos are sexy but they say you shouldn’t have one unless you truly know what design and style you want or you may regret it.

We both have tattoos and have a few more planned. However, not sure 2023 will be the year that happens.

We have a wedding to pay for and numerous big family birthdays. Plus, there are rumours that the annual household energy bill in the UK will top £750,000 this year and I just don't think we can stretch to tattoos as well.

Have a few, haha. Currently working on my back piece. I had them because I love ink, and decorating my body with images that mean something to me. My first meant something to me, and they’ve pretty much all followed suit.

Will be having more, when back piece done. My youngest is designing them- one to represent her sister (who is severely disabled, so unable to do one for me herself) and one for her, I call them my Angel and Fairy Gothlet, so she has the themes. Probably getting an underbust one at some point too.

I’m a little bit addicted xx

We’re thinking shoulder/upper arm (half sleeve really) and abdomen. One each, not both for both if that makes sense. General pain tolerance is pretty high but never experienced a tattoo which everyone seems to say is a unique kind of pain
