A lot of people have left, didn’t come back after Covid or maybe don’t post on the forums as much.

But other people get involved now so it’ll always be evolving. As to whether you think it’s gone downhill is down to personal taste.

I've noticed that myself. I'm sure covid had some impact. There was an influx of fake accounts and timewasters that could have also caused people to leave.

I've noticed that myself. I'm sure covid had some impact. There was an influx of fake accounts and timewasters that could have also caused people to leave."

We met on here as singles YEARS ago and we recently came back as a married couple.

We can honestly both say that while the community has evolved and expanded, it has by no means gone downhill! The people of fab have been and continue to be nothing short of kind, funny and welcoming

That’s our experience as singles and then as a couple across many years on here.

It might be a bit predictable at times but watching it for the last couple of months I find it much more balanced. I remember it being overtaken by mini groups of friends constantly 'performing', making private jokes, excessive flirting all over each threads and love bombing one another. Ha! I suppose I might have participated too at times as a single. My partner claims I was a "popular girl". I didnt see it that way. A bit marmite situation depending where you "sit". These days I don't see that to that extent for sure. It might be a slowlier moving creek, less meanders and spectacular waterfalls but it takes us on a pleasant journey with some good views along.

The forums and Fab are two separate things - most people on Fab don’t go anywhere near the forums.

I think Fab itself is the same as it has always been and I enjoy that.

The forums change and evolve overtime. Personally I find the forums repetitive at the moment with people just asking the same questions on threads that are already running but that will change as those people move on as always happens.

I’m not new to fab but I am new to the forums. It seems like a fun place to be and I’m enjoying breaking my way into conversations if I feel I can contribute.

As an outsider, it can be an intimidating place. It’s quickly apparent there are friends who know each other and josh about stuff I don’t get. Individually, I’m outgoing and sociable. But I get intimidated in big groups and don’t talk, which often deters me from feeling like I belong. I also worry about light heartedly taking the piss out of people who don’t know me - “Who TF is this guy?!!” or my sense of humour being taken as criticism.

All stuff for me to work on this year. I’ve got chatting to some really nice people and I’d like to keep that going.

Some people just like to watch the world burn.

I think Fab is a lovely place, but then I'm a bit Pollyannaish because everyone is so lovely to me. It's impossible to get an objective overview. And some people have been so hurt by matters of the heart that they can be ultra-defensive/bitter at what might seem gentle playfulness.

I try to remember that useful meme about never knowing what someone else is going through. (I often forget, but I try!)

Some will be doing all of the above at different times, at the same time and without most even realising.

In my 14 years on here I've not seen it any more or less welcoming, any greater or lesser prevalence of 'community' or changing much at all.
