Sigh. Dear diary….

I never saw this coming but I’ve gone and got a HUGE crush on someone from Fab. So frustrating haha!

We’ve never met or even chatted. But, if I had to draw up a list of physical attributes that make up my type for a GF she would tick every box. She also seems to be literate, intelligent, discerning, engaging and vivacious.

From what I see of her comments in forum threads she’s witty, friendly and would probably be awesome company.

So, as you can see, I’ve really built her up. I know you’ll all say “chances are she’s nothing like you imagined” but you can’t prove that!!!

I’m guilty of doing this to myself sometimes on ‘normal’ dating apps, but then we have a date and it either works or doesn’t. From that I get more dates or closure. From this stupid crush I get nothing!!!!

I suppose I don’t really have a point so have just wasted everyone’s time haha

Before anyone asks, I live too far away and, despite this, have messaged her to try my luck. This isn’t just a physical yearning so pic swap and naughty talk won’t do it.

I had a bit of a crush on someone once. On the forums anyone reading our very different posting style would think those two? Nah. But sometimes things work. And then that crush grows into something a bit more... nauseating for want of a better word. Strange but happy. Crushes are a lovely place to be in. As long as it's not a weirdly obsessive one.

I know what you mean. Like the man who proposes at half-time in a packed football stadium. But this really doesn't feel that way. The OP isn't coming across as pushy.

Crushes are lovely. If my heart were less blackened and icily cynical, I wouldn't mind having one myself.

I’m sorry you feel that way. Everyone is, of course, entitled to their opinion. And wouldn’t the world (and fab) be a boring place if we all thought the same.

Please be assured I am not a devious person and I have no agenda here. I will not be naming her or giving specific details. I would be mortified on her behalf if she felt subjected to all this.

Good for you!! I have, too, and it can be a wonderful thing - lots if fun if the mood is right, but when i'm with someone from whom I want something authentic and fulfilling, I always abstain the first couple of dates. Not that it isn't hard to do!!
