I very much doubt that he would ever have struggled financially even before this move.

If he hadn't already managed to ensure his future then frankly he's a twat given the amount he's already earned.

This in my opinion is just greed nothing more.

But can't blame him I guess if they are stupid enough to pay him why not.

I mean they would have only spent it on falcons or car's otherwise.

Just googled his net worth according to Forbes was already at 470 million USD

So all this needing money for future stuff is just crap and as I said previously it's just greed.

Although I know that he has/does do a lot of charity work so hopefully he's going to put his £170 million a year to good use.

He’ll stat pad for the next 18 months and be great at it.

Not 100% true. Although the owners can’t be defended at Newcastle, the group of players and manager we have now really do care about the fans.

Lots of footballers get to a age where they can’t play to the level they once did or would like to stay at some retire others drop down the leagues or go to different countries to prolong their career and do something that they really enjoy.Beckham , Lampard , Gerrard , Cole , Rooney 5 great England players who all played over 100 times for their country choose to finish their careers in the USA Ronaldo has chosen Saudi Arabia.These guys were in a position where they could choose when and where they could end their career it’s a short working life been a footballer so good luck to them I say.

This is probably a test drive to see

And if it works out they be the biggest league in 2-3 years time

They bought MMA pritty much with the ufc fight island deal

The have bought power lifting Larry wheels is over there

They started move in to arm wrestling with Larry also

They bought them selfs a event on the F1 calendar with abu dhabi track

If this gose well watch them start snapping up all the talent to stupid money

I can’t remember where I read it, but there was a point when United didn’t need to have fans in the stadium each week. The cost of staffing it etc, doesn’t make them much money. Behind closed doors is just the same. And probably for most elite clubs getting there profits from everywhere else.

The money is not earns from the games themselves any more. Look at the cash prize for the domestic cups. It’s little to what they get in other areas of the ‘business’.

I agree with what you’re saying but they’ll never be the biggest league unless they some how expand the Champion’s League to an international competition. China tried it, I think India did too but players will always want to play in Europe.

Since Gareth Bale left Madrid for L.A he hardly finds himself in the papers or sites on social media pushing out headlines for clicks and comments trying to make a buck out of his name with negativity.

Ronaldo might of taken his advice, who knows. People can forget how these stars are human with the same feelings as the rest of us and suffer the same loss as the rest of us.

Thankfully not all of us have lost a child as he has.

So yeah, why wouldn't you want to escape all the sniping for a big pay day

I don't begrudge him the money because let's be honest, he was never as naturally talented as the likes of Messi and Ronaldinho, but it's clear he worked very hard on his conditioning & what attributes he did have in order to make as much out of his career as he could.

It's 20+ years of hard exhausting work that has eventually got him this mental contract.

I suspect he didn’t really have much of a choice in terms of options or options which would make everyone sit up and think he wasn’t finished.

Most of the top clubs play the same now and that involves a lot of tracking back without the ball. That was never Ronaldo’s strength and it’s fantastic he’s got to 37 before he’s started getting benched regularly. Now his country is doing so too and with his recent outbursts, most top clubs would be thinking the same - he’s not worth the hassle.

A harmonious team is essential for success and he needs to be the focal point…so where he’s going now will be perfect for everyone. They’ll build a team to do his running, he’ll score goals as it’s easier, will raise his profile in the Middle East to God like status and raise awareness for the league, so everyone wins.
