That cramp in your calves that makes you sit bolt upright and want to scream

Other than that good morning

Omg! Yes!

When this happens to me, thankfully not often, my leg is so sore the next day where the muscle cramped.

What do you do to stop it op?

Curl toes upwards stretch the calf, yeah more pain for a brief moment but then eases, then stand on tiptoes raising and lowering.

I've been awake on the hour every hour for the best part of 3 days with cramps down the front of my shins... excruciating way to be kept awake.

Hearing my mother dashing to the loo throughout the night with her poorly tummy and the smell permeating throughout the house. Happy fucking Boxing Day!

"Curl toes upwards stretch the calf, yeah more pain for a brief moment but then eases, then stand on tiptoes raising and lowering."

I was told to do this as a child, but I find just getting up and walking it off works better, and stops it happening again as soon as I drop off.

I did end up walking it off as my daughters dog who is here with her decided it was time to go out

Get exactly the same thing; absolute agony. But then do you stupidly tense your calf muscle again to see if it cramps again - or is that just me?

I get this often. I find stretching my leg out fully and pointing my toes to the ceiling takes the pain away pretty much instantly these days. Which is weird because nothing used to work and I'd lie there crying for a good minute or so.

That waking in agony feeling is one best avoided. I find it's when I'm run down, tired, or dehydrated. My leg then hurts like billyo for a day or so after

I get that a lot but it’s better if I take regular exercise.

Sounds odd but take some of that yellow American mustard (frenchies I think) to bed with a tea spoon & when the cramps start take a half teaspoon of it & it does help ease it off.

When I get this I find that eating bananas tends to stop it happening again for a while.

Potassium upgrade. I don't like the texture of bananas, do you think milkshake has the same effect?

I don't like the texture either. But I dislike it less than the screaming leg cramp.

Llanelli

I used to suffer regularly from cramp in my legs at night and would hurt for days after. Definitely not a good way to wake up
