The man from Faithless. A pioneer of music, a true hero of mine with countless of timeless classics.

He passed away last night. How sad this news is to all his / they're fans.

Rest in peace

I was just typing a ‘are you sure’ reply as could t see confirmation of this ANYWHERE other than Wikipedia which can be excited by anyone … and then BBC news popped up with the notification.

So sad the wife and I have seen him live a few times and they were awesome as Faithless. Let’s hope God is a DJ and he is at his church!

Condolences to his family

I follow Sister Bliss on Facebook and she announced it. I wouldn't of believed it otherwise. Still can't.

Fuck!

I was heavily in to the rave scene in the 90’s and remember hearing a demo of Insomnia, several months before it came out. Totally blew us away!

Saw them live a few times and although they weren’t quite as good as The Prodigy, it was always a damn fine show.

Seemed like a pretty nice, chilled out guy too

Also Martin Duffy, keyboard player with Primal Scream and the replacement for Rob Collins in The Charlatans for a few years died this week too- another couple of great bands (and The Charlatans must think they’re cursed )

Gutted. RIP Maxi.

Guess some of us are reaching that age when our youth hero's are going to be departing sooner rather than later. But they leave huge legacies behind them for people to discover and enjoy.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra do a belting classical version of Insomnia, seen it live a few times, but unfortunately Maxi didn’t do the vocals for it- that would have been a fine thing!

So saddened, just seen the news. Maxi Jazz , such a one of human being. To lose now maxi and terry hall in the same week , both matriarchs of their different genres is bad week for music lovers

It's been such a bleak week in music. First Terry Hall, Duffy from Primal Scream and now Maxi Jazz. All of them quiet and unassuming people but have left behind a wonderful legacy showing how much they brought to British music.

Were u used to go in the 90's i was into it too, How you get to hear that i bet that was special, it came out on promo in November 1995, don't think there was ever a white label of it, he was a DJ in the late 90's !

The prodigy were the bollox back in the day and Altern8, Bizarre Inc,

Used to do the various techno clubs round Brum mainly but got to hear it when I was given a tape by my sisters partner, who was a DJ and knew quite a lot of the big names back then, so got quite a lot of tunes on white label or demo.

Saw The Prodigy numerous times between mid 90’s and their final tour, the latter blew me away for its energy and production value- even saw Faithless & Prodigy on consecutive nights (2016 IIRC?)

Have seen Faithless countless times live, used to go to the pub where he DJed and was lucky enough to meet him in the last 6 months and tell him how much his music and his positivity had meant to me over the last 20 years.

An absolute legend.

Goodbye Maxi
