Christmas is a time for being kind...

Who are you going to forgive and what for?

Manchester (she/her)

Surely Easter is more about forgiveness?

Christmas is God giving his son - gifts, including to those with whom we don't have a relationship.

Easter - crucifixion - sacrifice for those who've transgressed.

Great point

Although as Christmas is a time of giving gifts, you could give the gift of forgiveness.

____

Although last time I tried this instead of buying her perfume she really wasn't amused

I forgive myself for being human and keeping people away from me.

Problem solved. I'm being kind. To myself

Carlisle usually

I'm happy to remain unforgiving for the things I consider unforgivable. The rest has already been forgiven.

And bitterness eats away at you and destroys you from the inside.

It's best to just let it go, what happened in the past is out of your control now, better off focusing on making the future. Forgiveness is good

"Christmas is a time for being kind...

Who are you going to forgive and what for? "

The irony is that 'peace on earth and goodwill towards all people' is not just meant to be a Christmas thing. Instead, if we were to believe the Christian story, it is *because* of the birth of Jesus that goodwill and peace extend to all from then onwards.

So NOW is the time for kindness. (Though that includes being kind to ourselves, having good boundaries, etc.)

Quite right. And to think they were on Santa's nice list right to the end!
