No names given, no clues left as to who said it.

I've just had a lovely shower on cam, as I enjoy doing every few weeks, in the Bi Directing chatroom. Just before the shower, I announced in Bi Directing Room that I was getting ready to shower on cam, and mentioned that was my weekly shower.

And I got shamed for it being weekly. Very quickly. The person, who I believe be a cis male, said "You should shower daily". Not that he showers daily, but what *I* should do.

So, here are the reasons I shower:

Because I have been active enough to break a sweat, and can smell it.

Because the weather is warm enough to break a sweat, and I can smell it.

Because I'm going on a date, or to a club.

Because I smell.

Because it has been a week, by which point, I smell.

To be honest, this week, I should have showered yesterday, but I love that on Saturdays I'm not at work so I can take my time and shower in the daytime, sometimes on cam.

In the chat, someone pointed out, nice if you can afford to heat the water daily. While cash is not my motivation to shower only weekly, I think I'd have to adjust my budget to allow for energy consumed by daily showers, given its cost! Fact is, me and my partner shower when we need to. But if I was motivated by cost, the overly critical person would have been poor-shaming me too.

I also mentioned the fact that I love the smell of my nesting partner's scrote when it has been 3-6 days since he last showered. I think it is a pheromone thing. If you don't get it, you don't get it, like how some people react to nipple-play and some don't. I don't like my partner's smell when he showered only a day ago!

I'm not interested in how often you scrub up, reader, and I regret saying in chat that I was about to have my weekly shower on cam. I'm just venting spleen that someone felt the need to shame. This is a very long-winded FUCK YOU! to that man.

In fact, shower daily, or do other things that waste CO2 unnecessarily and expect to be shamed for contributing to the destruction of the world the next generation inherits.

I use soap very sparingly - it's really not good for my skin and even at 50 will give me some nasty popping spots on my shoulders. The tackle area, pits and feet clearly require it and if I end up with dirt or oil or something that water on its own won't shift then it's necessary otherwise I won't damage my skin with it.

I condition my hair but haven't used shampoo on it for nearly two years as shampoo turns it to rough straw.
