She has her own business and got really busy over the last few days and can't afford to turn work away.

So it's mates to the rescue!

They are. Which is why I said no problem. Good friends are amazing and I'd walk over hot coals for mine.

Count your place settings - don't want to have to eat your Christmas dinner out of a bowl cos you're one short!

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

I popped around to see a couple of people I know and exchanged prezzies, then spent a productive couple of hours tidying the garden whilst it has been bright, mild and dry.

I am now looking up the best places to buy sleeping bags before getting ready to go out for a meal and bevvies.

We have also been out in the garden and just back from the tip.

Argos has a couple of good ones

Been to visit dad's parents and grandma and his grave. Slightly on the emotional side now. Sitting at my aunt's with a cup of tea and a biscuit with puffy eyes!

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Made gravy and some of the veg for Xmas day, put some gammon into soak, hoovered half the house, and now about to go out for drinks with a mate I haven't seen for nearly 2 years.

Giggling at you not being able to play 'ball' ... doesn't bode well for a future swinging meet does it.

Stayed at a friends last night, went to Bristol to change the shoes he bought me for Christmas, and do some shopping, came home, bolognese done and cooling in tubs ready to freeze, shepherds pie mix cooking at the moment; some for dinner today and some for the freezer. Was going to make chicken fricasee but think I have done enough cooking and will rest this evening and do it tomorrow instead after shopping

We have just been for a pint to raise a glass to our dearly departed friend,

My ex is kind of refusing to acknowledge it or talk about it, I'm a bit worried, it's gonna hit him hard when it finally sinks in xx

The duck has been marinated and sitting in the spare fridge ready for Christmas Day.

Prepared the two sauces I shall have with the nibbles.

Still need to make the chocolate truffles tonight, should not take long to roll them out.

Enjoying a Long Island Ice Tea while waiting for the pig in blankets to cook as dinner tonight.

Happy day.

He wasnt in a good place, and obviously thought it was his only course. Anger is part of the grieving process, let your grief out. Xx
