Over the years on Fabs forums, there's been just about every subject you could ever dream if, that's been discussed.

Mostly, people just offer a perspective then move on, but occasionally a topic gets rather heated and somewhat acrimonious.

Are there any topics that you now simply steer clear of, to avoid unpleasantness, despite the fact you may feel strongly about them?

What unpleasantness. It's just words on a screen.

Some people take things far too literally and don't bother to think about comments.

Think outside the box.

Yes. A few years ago I was a lot more... well willing to debate with people. I'd relish getting my teeth into a meatier topic. I'm not sure if it's down to me mellowing or the rise in ad hominem posts but I don't get as involved in certain topics.

As much as I try and avoid it, certain posters will affect the likelihood of me replying as well - sometimes I'm poster blind and reply to the thread rather than the poster but other times I think nah, I'll leave that.

100 % agree with this.....even though a decade ago I was probably quite guilty of that exact behaviour. But you live and learn and evolve.

Or not.

As for subjects I avoid? Nope. I'll post on anything I have an interest in, regardless of who the OP I'd, as long as I have something valuable to contribute. What grinds my gears (as per a thread of mine not too long ago) is when people post pointless, vague, 'non-reply' comments to questions, which help nobody, educate or inform no-one and just fill up a thread with essentially nothing. That and thread hijacks, derailments and forum love-ins.

But I'll stick to my guns on any points I make unless someone can convince me otherwise and I won't state any factual claims that I'm not 100% sure are true, based not on what bollocks I've read in the press or on Facey but on peer reviewed research.

Some people like to claim all sorts when discussions get a little 'heated' on posts. But there's a wide gulf between opinions and verified facts.

I'm sure someone will be along in a mo to tell me that facts aren't facts though......

Agee to disagree...

Political arena guaranteed but can't say the same for anal, simply because if one preps before play then can have an abundance of fun without it ever getting messy (hence comfort in doing plenty arse to mouth without any fear). Just as they do in Porno movies. Like with all good things "preparation" is key.

But you're right, since there's always a potential accidents can happen (which is usually when preparation has been rushed).

There are an inordinate amount of hackneyed topics that I stay clear of, in addition to avoiding the architects of those topics, who thrive by ejaculating their banality and smegma all over the fora every other hour on the hour.

Personally, there's only so much I can take of: wet finger in my bum; rate my cock; what's the temperature in your armpit; taste my semen; which famous meteorologist would you like to fuck?; fingernail Friday; sniff my knickers whilst chatting to my mother in law; ...

The worse part is that they get spewed all over the Lounge where, instead, they should be under the Swingers section. I mean, can you imagine me talking about chess clubs and embroidery in the Swingers section? I would be ejected from there in no time.

I've grown bored recently tbh so am having a bit of a sabbatical.

I sometimes think I'll post and lose interest before I even finish my first sentence

Agree with most of the comments above on the tired threads. Originality is fleeting on here.

Tired catchphrases fml

The 'remember the fabbers of yesteryear' threads..... for when the fabbers of today want to remember why they bother to log on...

Bored of the same fabbers playing flirt-tennis.... verbally humping eachother to boost their egos and their fab image. Shhhhhh don't ever spoil the vibe & admit they'd never entertain eachother in person.... just keep posting like clockwork, suck/lick/fuck, on the same short list of fabbers.

The questionable few who use the forums to sidestep blocks and filters to either jibe at or try to hit on other posters.

The repetitive, recycled threads.

And the best of all....

The trigger-happy posters throwing political/religious/racist/etc thread bombs for sport and then sitting back and enjoying the fallout.

So yeah, time for a lil break

Dublin

I read most threads on the Irish forum, sometimes skim through the virus and politics forum for a good ol' eye roll to exercise my eyeballs but couldn't be arsed commenting or getting into a discussion because they usually end up in insults and name calling. Live and let live is my motto.

I'm here for the entertainment factor, which I get on most threads and have no problem just throwing in a sarcastic comment or flirt Mrs

LIVERPOOL

Politics is just different opinions I know so many people who get so angry because someone votes a certain way or thinks differently... I even know 2 people who were arguing about something basically they wanted the same thing but still disagreed ... I love Politics it brings out the best and worst in people .. sometimes you gotta sit back and watch it all kick off

Yes, holding a tennis raquet and scratching your arse.

Depends if I’m feeling mischievous but generally avoid drama (who needs that) and ass blowing themed posts

The ‘what does professional couple/guy/woman mean?’ threads. Always divisive.

Somewhere in Co. Down

There are loads that I can't be bothered commenting on anymore.Sometimes I start to write replies and just think half way through nah I can't be arsed.

So many are just the same threads posted differently,or people saying things to get reactions or attention.Which is grand cos they will usually get it even if it doesn't go the way they want.

A lot of times now though I really can't be arsed with it all and the fakeness of a some of it.
