There's intriguing evidence that humans are evolving a capacity for this. After all, so many mammals already do, and we've only been living in cold climes around 100,000 years...pretty brief in evolutionary terms.

It's amazing how many people don't know about hoarfrost, and give you the 'how can you say that word in front of everybody' look when you mention it !
