Somewhere In The Ether…

I’ve just looked the said condition up as I must admit, it’s the first time I’ve heard the term.

Apparently it may be (although is not yet conclusively proven) due to lowering dopamine levels which fall naturally in the evening.

I’m sure you’ve probably tried the recommended treatments OP (massage, a warm bath, gentle exercise to relax the muscles etc)

Would gentle stretching exercises possibly help?

Alot of people recommend magnesium,it comes as a spray which gets absorbed subcutaneously and is a really good supplement for so many reasons

Hey OP, I don't suffer with it, but isn't there something about taking magnesium to help?

Not sure if that's just an old wives' tale though...

I can’t promise this to help but I’ve just found a device called a Therapulse which is designed exclusively for the said condition. Have a google ganders.

Ok. Interesting. I take magnesium as a tablet supplement daily. Maybe I should switch to the spray directly onto my legs??

That's what's recommended, the tablet can cause an upset stomach in some people and comes in various forms

The spray is great

Good amount of exercise throughout the day and stretch off after exercise so that your muscles aren’t cramping.

Also healthy sleep - limit caffeine intake, healthy balance diet and establishing a healthy evening routine is also supposed to help

I’ve got all of the above down to a tea so nothing more I can do on any of those.

Yeah. I used to call it leg syndrome but it called restless legs syndrome. I've not found any real remedies but do find sugars, fructose get me moving a lot more. Same with things that have tannin in like grape skins, some apples and tomatoes. Magnesium salt baths help - but some take it as a tablet form for it, I've tried it with no success but it may have been the dosage

A “cure” is to get physically very, very, tired – exhausted. You just won’t have enough energy to keep up the leg movements. This isn’t a very practical day-to-day solution.

I reduced the severity of my RLS by concentrating on restricting the movements to just my feet – moving only my ankles and toes, not my hips or knees. This helps when I’m sharing a bed.

One quite important compensation is that you will stay slim! Your high metabolic rate burns off surplus energy while you sleep – none is converted to fat and stored. The more you eat, the more you move.

The Big Smoke

I don’t get it much at night but when I’m anxious I do. It does help to have a small can of tonic water for bed. Apparently the quinine really helps xx

Dehydration. Lack of actual water, not just fluid.

I'm on medication to help with mine... I also get random muscle spasms...

My doctor keeps playing with the mix and dosage . We are currently not doing well
