Irish coffee

Anyone got any good recipes apart from..coffee whiskey n cream....just getting into the taste of them and have a new coffee.machine so be nice to experiment over the festive period....thanks in advance

When I first started working in the restaurant I'm in now, I couldn't make a proper liqueur floating coffee. So I bought some cream, and some proper coffee and spent the night practicing with any liqueur I had in the house. Needless to say by the end of the night, I didn't give a shit how they looked, but I could make a floating coffee.

I did discover I preferred them made with Cointreau or Amaretto.

When I first started I used a mixture of single cream and squirty cream mixed together really well.

Now I just use whipping cream, in a squirty tube shaken really hard, and pour gently over a spoon. If you want it to definitely settle and not sink put about 6 sugars in it. The sugar helps it to float.

ok dont matter hat alcahol in i orked in rest years use brown sugar mix in to a whirl pool use singe cream poured over turned upside spoon work s wonders

Instead of whisky, I would use either Grand Marnier or Kahlua/Tia Maria instead.

Never use whisky. It's far too good for such novelty use.

Whiskey is fine.
