Poirot would be far too worried about hygiene.

Endeavour too virginal.

Lewis would keep his socks on.

Obvious problems with Cadfael...

Wimsey gets a great write-up from his wife on honeymoon - 'Damn it all,Peter, you know you make me feel exactly like heaven'.

My money's on Adam Dalgliesh. Confident, experienced, described as tall, intelligent, strong but sensitive (a published poet,no less), and extremely successful.

Who would your choice be? Which detective gets your eyes shining and breathless lips parting? Who would you love to interrogate you?

Question: do FBI agents count?

If yes, my answer is Agent Scully from X-Files. Had a crush on Gillian Anderson since I was a lad

These are some great shouts - thank you, all! I forgot The Bridge and Whitechapel - great shows with attractive leads.

I love Gillian Andersen as an actor, but she does nothing for me sexually. And I can see the Prime Suspect thing, but again, she presses the wrong buttons for me.

My money's on Adam Dalgliesh. Confident, experienced, described as tall, intelligent, strong but sensitive (a published poet,no less), and extremely successful.

Who would your choice be? Which detective gets your eyes shining and breathless lips parting? Who would you love to interrogate you?"

What the actual guck is wrong with you?

Gillian Anderson in everything she has ever done

Absolutely anything good or bad in criminal minds (special mention to Reid)

Not good with brain activity at this hour but I think I recall Keeley Hawes as a copper in a tv series? Or a spy maybe?

I also had a thing for the WPC in The Bill who worked with CID eventually with Carver, brunette.

Not much use really, but it is late, forgive me.

As this is fantasy, a wonderful orgy with Stella Gibson, Robin from Strike, Dale Cooper, Danny and Erin Regan, Baker from blue blood can come along to. They may not all come but at least I will.
