The worse thing about loneliness I find is that it feels too comfortable.

In the past I have watched or listened to groups of people talking or laughing or playing games and simultaneously wished I was with them whilst praying they don't ask me to join because I'd feel uncomfortable

I wrote on my blog about being lonely and being alone.

I’m generally happy in my own skin and time alone, I enjoy being in nature or the cold water on my own, but by fuck there are times I’m so lonely which is a different matter.

I miss the closeness and the being with someone.

My work are aware of my mental health so I don't get 2 days off together...so im not on my own for 2 whole days...and when on holiday, like this week,I have to check in with the works WhatsApp group ...otherwise I'm that lonely I would speak to another human for 48hrs....op speak to someone or anyone x

I work from home and live alone and some of my family live 4 hours away from me. It can be very hard at times as I can feel terribly lonely.

I often get offers from friends to send them but the end up finding excuses to not go. I think part of it is the impact of covid. I’m determined to change this mindset in 2023 x

Horrible feeling.

I live alone away from friends and family. Can't work due to a work injury last year.

I've found loneliness swing about, I plan different nights from gaming, movies, boxset, sports cpl of nights a week find in this weather gives me something to look forward to and think about rather than stewing about being alone etc

I would class myself a bit of a loner, was always happy in my own company. Whem in groups was usually the one just sitting there. Was in a relationship which didn't turn out well. Now feel noone is better than the wrong one.

Reading

While I was married ( now a widower ) for a while and now retired . It is this time of year yes find bad. Very cold weather etc. People indoors. Plus my main hobby is outside ( sea fishing) So weather is a big factor if going. I do have luckily good neighbours who speak with every day and female friend . Messages every day . Can understand how people feel on own

I try and stay busy. Long walks or taking my dog to the dog park so I don’t think about it. Sometimes it helps but then there are times when it doesn’t.

This will be my first Christmas alone after seperating from my wife of 20 years. We have stayed best friends and speak on wattsap videocall daily, but the loneliness is a killer. I have my dogs, they keep me going, but nothing can replace that human contact and cuddles. My inbox is always open OP if you just fancy a mates chat. I share your pain brother

I used to struggle to make friends at primary school and through life since then. I climb the walls with loneliness most days and will message people in the hope to get a response. I’ve found Facebook is really bad for me also. People on holiday in groups having fun when I’m not or simply dining out with friends. Nobody calls or visits me anymore. It’s really hard to deal with.

It's a weird one for me.

I like being alone, though I rarely am alone.

But I still feel lonely a lot of the times, but on the other hand I'm not good with being close to someone!
