During the cold spell I've kept the garden birds water feeders free of ice. Also put a good amount of food out for them. Built some gaming systems for parents who wanted something for their youngsters. Saved them a lot of money. Both different sorts of giving but good all the same.

Wife and I went to Wales last weekend. Car skidded off the road in the snow.

Passing farmer rescued our car and drove us the remaining two miles with our gear!

We sent him a wine hamper as a thank you.

I only put up the thread because the person in front of me in the Greggs queue debit card wasn’t working… so I just said lump it with what I was buying! And pay it forward if you see someone else in the same situation!

It was just a little something but I now have a mini warm glow in me!!

I paid for an ambulance man's Costa the other day

I bought a drink and some food for a homeless girl and gave her some of my rollies

I believe in paying it forward.

My dad is a fine example of that. Throughout his life he and my mum were very involved in various charities and on private acts of kindness. Now he's very old people are trying to do nice things for him m. He simply can't understand it though and I have to remind him regularly that people are just paying him back.

As I was walking out the shop the other day

Someone was walking in I turned and went back in to the shop and held the door open for them

We help out our elderly neighbors constantly check up on their well being. Donate Hunting harvests to St. Vincent DePaul's kitchens. Volunteer for toys for tots and volunteer at the Veterans Administration. It's wonderful just to make someone smile.

I tend to help out or offer assistance to my friends more so than strangers.

However, the last time I did help a steanger they were trying to buy a drink in a paper shop using their card, but it was below the “threshold”, so I included it in my bits and gave it to them.

I was out getting breakfast one morning in a cafe we were sitting in a booth and an older women with mobility problems came in an couldn't get a soft seat so she said she would stand at a table I said to the waitress about her having my seat so we can got up an swapped seats and after we ate I went to pay and found out the women paid for my food! It made my day

Many of us do lots of little or bigger things to help others if we can. It's just how it should be and gives you the most gratifying feelings ever to know you just helped someone in their hour of need. Sometimes you can be taken advantage of but that can be overlooked as on the whole people are very grateful. Lockdown was one of those times I certainly felt I had to do my bit to help people however best I could.

Lady was asking on our local f book page for clothes and footwear for local refugees so sorted a bag out of nice warm coats! Don't have spare money so was nice to help with what I had x

We always try and help out someone at christmas. Last year we put a hamper of food and toys together for a single mum and her daughter. This year we've bought toys for two kids who wouldn't be getting much on Christmas morning.

We also help the local food banks when they're collecting at the supermarket. Last time they were handing out slips of paper listing the things they were short of and asking people to provide one or two items if they could so we literally filled a trolley with all of it.

Itsa tough time of year for many so if you can help one or two people then it does make you feel like you're helping a little and that's ample payback.
