"just steroids juice up!! I was gonna say this but thought twice.. 10 weeks on the juice is all you need .. " That's something then. I can afford to lose an inch on my dick on a temporary basis for a couple of inches on my arms and chest on a permanent basis. I go to the gym but mainly as cardio vascular cos I I'm veggie I don't eat a lot of protein really so finding muscle building quite difficult. What supplement would help with that?

I often use the protein shake as a breakfast "on the go" and find it keeps me full for much longer than any traditional breakfast.

"Oh I eat all that on and off anyway. I bought some stuff energy bars and a milkshake by a company called science in sports but only tried it once. I suppose I'd need a few weeks worth to see if it did anything. Must ne nice in south of France. As a total bore as I am: what was the weather like there today?" Yep you have got to keep it up.Another tip if your looking to build muscle, don't worry so much about cardio.Just concentrate on weights with maybe just a couple of 20 min cardios a week.. Weathers ok here plenty of sun and temps above normal for the time of year, but Jan and feb are the coldest months...

Not magical if you think you still don't have to work hard in the gym and eat well etc.

I train for competition, so 3-4 hours per day is about right. My sessions are split morning and evening then a few weeks before a comp' my gym time is halved, I never overtrain. In my off season, I'll do an hour every other day.

"Protein shakes are a waste of time and money. I haven't used any for 4 months and my body looks exactly the same. Exercise and a good diet is all you need." If you can eat all the protein you need In your diet then fab, well done. Hubby has his shake before bed and I have mine post workout. Hubby is following the Derek Poundstone diet, he has 1kg of chicken made into shakes for his lunches... That's a protein shake! Lol

"Protein shakes are a waste of time and money. I haven't used any for 4 months and my body looks exactly the same. Exercise and a good diet is all you need." I wouldn't say their a waste of time and money as it depends on the person who's taking them, what gains they want and more importantly and as you mentioned, a good diet. If you can get your bodies protein requirement post workout without supplements then you'll be saving your money. if like me, you can't eat post workout then supplements are needed. Let's not forget, protein helps muscle repair and grow so to simply discount it as a waste of time isn't quite true. Some people train much harder than others do their requirements will differ greatly.

"I've considered using steroids myself, but really can't justify it, I'm not a model nor an athlete." So if you were a model or athlete then it's justified?!!! Steroids have no place in the gym and are for people who don't like hard work. Most people know about them so there's no excuse for taking them, stay away, your body will thank you for it.

" Training on steroids is harder than not. Everything needs to be perfect, your diet needs to be nearest dam spot on, you need to be training like an animal, sleeping well, other wise they bite, plus there is the whole which ones, how much, pct, water intake, people who think they can be lazy whilst on gear have no idea. That goes for any supplementation, do your research before taking anything, don't take bro science as fact or what you read in the papers,

"I started on cardio because I wasn't fit enough to do anything else. I'm much fitter now so am thinking about muscle toning. I'm 6f 2 tall, 32 waist and weigh 12 stone. No idea about chest size. As I'm veggie I think I need some sort of protein supplements. Maybe I should concentrate 1 day cardio 2 days muscle tone per week in the new year. Would that work?" Try Crossfit, I'm a big advocate. You'll have to do a web search on it as I'm not allowed to post websites on here. There are gyms in Brighton.

Its only the top guys and girls who are any good at the movements, everyone i see people doing it i think its an accident waiting to happen. I think he should try to lift weights first before trying at anything. For most being a gym rat is enough. Personally I'm a strength athlete, i do compete in amature strongman competitions, i tried body building, but during the cutting phase i really didn't like getting so weak, which lead me to try strongman.

" CrossFit, definitely :D if people are performing movements wrong then their getting poor instruction if any. The gym I attend has a great beginners course and overall the instructor to student ratio is 3:15 per class. That's not bad when some gyms are 1:20avg. There seems to be this big misconception with CrossFit that only the top boys and girls can do it and it's so far from the truth. Everybody has to start somewhere in a given discipline. How can one lift 150 when one can't move correctly? People can start Crossfit even when they've never trained before, that's why we have beginner courses.

"Good old fashioned 'milk'.. a bit out there I know...aids recovery time faster than any supplement apparently!! LOL I read that somewhere too. "I am a senior sports coach and also deal with rugby players attached to a professional sports club and supplements are really not needed with correct diet and most people using a gym are not training hard enough to require them anyway. If you are you need to take on about 2g of protein per 10kg bodyweight per day but a good tasting easily accessible source for this is chocolate Frijj (about 20g in a bottle) available in every supermarket for about a quid." "Do 'fat burners' actually work? If so, whats the best one to buy?" They do work but in my experience you need a strict diet and a strict fat burning exercise regime. The product I use may or may not work for you. I would suggest doing some research into how they work and make a purchase from there. You need to know what's going into your body. Speak to people who know the products well, unfortunately Holland & Barrett do a bad job of this, but that could be he store I went into. Better still have a nutritionist on speed dial :D

"Fat burners you can buy off the shelve have very little in them that will help, normally mainly caffeine, with added green tea extract, and the latest fad ingredients, along with their own patient ingredients. How ever if you were to try a buy a few things not so legally/banned substances, you'd get far better results. (T3's, Ephedrine, Growth Hormone) But again, if the diet isn't in place, and the training is only half hearted, its a waste of money buying anything extra."
