Oddest Christmas rituals

Have just done my oddity, a bit later than usual, but not too late.

I just scrubbed and sterilized the large bucket I have to use to mix all my Christmas cakes in. The mix is bubbling on the hob and the house smells like Christmas.

What odd things do you have to do at this time of year?
