I have only received 3 this year and the puppy chewed one. Once upon a time I got around 50. Are people not sending them these days or do you think nobody likes me?. Maybe could also be due to postal strike. How many have you received and do you send many?.

Most people use facebook to save on cards, postage and the like.

Some people will use being “green” as an excuse not to send any.

I do think card giving is dying, in the same way postcards and letters have.

Only really send them to relatives and friends abroad, usually attach xmas cards to presents to give in person and hand some cards through letterboxes to the neighbours.

Price of bloody stamps OP. I'll be sending fewer this year

The cost of stamps probably doesn't help anymore, probably triple the price of the cards if you have to send quite a few out.

I have received two cards.

I was at the post office and saw a girl with a stack of about a dozen cards.

Now I'm tempted to get a fancy fountain pen and send some Christmas cards to all my family and friends.

I still send to some neighbours, family and friends and used to give lots at work but I make a charity donation instead. Some people, especially the elderly love giving and receiving cards so I try to consider that. I also send a few e-cards if appropriate. I always seem to forget a few though. Whilst considering other factors including use of technology, cost of cards and postage and such like, is good we don't abandon all traditions per se as for some people it makes them happy.

I've sent them to family overseas and close friends .

I just buy work a card and address it to all staff ,rather than sending individual ones to all of them.

We’ve received one…not sent any.

Think it’s a dying tradition now plus with the strike people have probably thought what’s the point.

We've had 2, and one of those was addressed to the dog

I only send to my elderly aunties and one for everyone at work.

Been receiving less as the years go by, I don't think many people send cards anymore. It's just another expense!

This.

Look up the change in the price of stamps since the Tory/Lib Dem coalition privatised Royal Mail in 2010...

You could always get card paper and a nice pen and make something creative with it which wouldn't cost that much.

I've received two and sent two. I stopped sending the world and his wife Christmas cards a few years ago, they are mostly a waste of time and money. The family I don't see at Christmas get one and that's it.

Do remember to send a card to a random family you've never met. It will give them hours of discussion trying to figure out who the hell 'Simon, Angela and the boys' are.

I posted a small parcel yesterday first class and was told it may not arrive in time for Xmas due to the strike.

I like to send and receive cards. We've had about four in the post and a few more delivered by hand. I've posted a lot which I think have arrived including a parcel on Thursday which arrived on Monday (2nd class). The Spanish, far east and USA cards probably won't arrive until after Christmas.

We just send cards to close family and a couple of neighbours (from an emergency stash we keep on standby)!

I donate to a nearby hospice instead.

We no longer send Christmas cards, instead we donate to charity.

I have even got to the point of disliking receiving cards too and just see them as clutter... secretly wanting to treat them as junk mail and put in recycling bags.

Considering 2 books of 8 first class stamp is over £10, people might be a bit reluctant to still send them.

Try sending none and see how many you get, can be a real eye opener !.

Yes much fewer cards received than the old days, we only send to 'true' friends and 'close' relatives so quite a short list these days lol

2 & 1 of them is from charity, the Salvation Army.

Seems 2b a dying trend...!

More so now, given that we're entering if not already in recession...

Cards maybe last thing on peeps list of priorities...!

I like at least one Christmas card with a quaint, glittering, village snow scene.

I've received one already so I'm happy.

I've bought a few cards for my children and grandchildren and will hand deliver two cards to my sisters.

A box at end of your bed

I have 1 so far. But then again I don't send them so don't really expect any. If it wasn't for my teen son living with me I would not have even put up tree or decorations.

Xmas is not the same as it used to be years ago it's to commercialise and more about money then family time, kids get there games machine and disappear into their rooms on their own don't need or want to spend time with the old fuddy duddys. Time have changed sadly so has Xmas.

I haven't sent a Christmas card in over 20 years and I don't intend to start now. I've always viewed it as a waste. It just get thrown away by January.

So my wife sends them instead..

More than anything, I suspect. Plus the uncertainty of whether non barcoded stamps will throw up a recipient's surcharge.

The cards themselves are not expensive in supermarkets as opposed to card shops.

Stamps shouldn't have barcodes. It's a step too far into the future.

You don't even have to lick them anymore.

Only send a few now, used to take hours writing them out, started off all neat handwriting then ended up spider scrawl lol. Do the gift to charity instead.
