Don’t think it helps being single and nearly 50, Never imagined it tbh " I'm days away from the same and I'm absolutely fine with it. In the same boat as you OP. I see it as, I'm better off happy and single than stuck in a mediocre relationship. Wishing you all the best.

"I embraced turning 50, as someone else has said I no longer give a shit about what others think, I’m me. I think it also gives you the confidence to finally be your true self, well for me anyway. Enjoy turning 50 it’s the new 30 " 100% this.

"Turning 30 was the massive one for me. Once that was out the way I didn't give a flying one about my age. I also became single at 50 (my choice after 26 years) and since then have grabbed life by the balls and am more adventurous and happier than I have ever been before. " good for you,,

"Only a couple of months off and I want to run away and hide ! Has anyone else felt this way about a milestone birthday? Don’t think it helps being single and nearly 50, Never imagined it tbh " Fantastic Forties and Fabulous Fifties! 40 hurt my back but not my spirit. If there is something you don't like change it! You are never too old to learn and implement change. I'm single and child-free and I try to wring every bit of life out of every day. In the last 12 months 3 people close to me under 45 died....I'm not waiting around to kick the bucket....with any luck I'll die swinging. Lol! Maverick out.

"I didn’t I enjoy it. I know it’s only a number , nothing changes & life is still good. But it just made me think that any big stuff, big career changes,,starting new businesses, more kids, seriously crazy adventures etc is unlikely now" More kids? That's rare in a man. Lol! My mother moved countries at age 60 for 4 years. She's now learning to swim at age 72!

"The last milestone birthday I celebrated was my 21st. Life and circumstances meant that 30 and 40 passed unnoticed. I knew something had to change when turning 50 and had planned on doing something to celebrate it but when my mum passed away 2 weeks beforehand that was knocked on the head too and it became just another birthday. " Hugs...after 30 I made a point to celebrate every birthday even if I was alone. I made it to Ibiza for club 18-30. the others have been Day Spa, remote Sicily, and the Caribbean. I even managed to escape London for Sicily in 2020 and shared a bottle of prosecco with the other patrons of the hotel restaurant. 40 was a month in the Caribbean. Glorious! Dunno know what I will do for 50 but Cap d'agde looks like fun!

"Only a couple of months off and I want to run away and hide ! Has anyone else felt this way about a milestone birthday? Don’t think it helps being single and nearly 50, Never imagined it tbh " No, never. More aches and pains as you go past your half century. But its worth it. Embrace every birthday...and think of the people who will never get to celebrate their 50th, 40th, 30th, 21st, 18th...etc

"I'm nearly there and I feel hideous. I get so many messages from guys younger than me and I just ask them why they are interested in "a fat old lady" like me. Aging has eaten away at the confidence I didn't have much of on the first place, so I'm sceptical when a good looking guy sends me a message, I just assume he sees me as low hanging fruit, desperate for attention due to my age and size, the older I get the more I feel this way when "Mr 6 pack" messages. I have botox and every cream under the sun, but there's only so much you can do. Turned 48 in October, another year towards the Fab graveyard. " Well your pictures present a confident and sexy woman. And whilst you may be curvy, for many men that’s a big turn on! The many messages you receive won’t be because men see you as “low hanging fruit” but quite the opposite at least that’s from my perspective x
