"My ability to trust people and they let me down big time "

Maybe thinking of ones natural abilities can make us also think of how to protect them and put them to good use. There are definitely people out there who crave being trusted and won't abuse that emotional investment of yours. If you had a fair share of the ones who took advantage of that maybe it's time to work on boundaries, the fence to protect your lovely ability to trust.

Naturally... I'm a social butterfly, I've always fitted in with ease, the only thing that hinders me is lack of sleep and alcohol

Unnaturally... is also trust, my outer shell is like concrete, but find a crack and I'm a friend for life xxx

Empathy

Not natural

Reading signals of someone flirting back

Accepting compliments (I am working hard on this)

Switching off

Empathy seems a bit underappreciated these days. Putting right words out there does not equal to the actual feeling. Sometimes I feel the experience of empathy is almost physical.

Empathy is physically, you feel the emotions of other people so have to learn how to put yourself in a bubble now and then

It definitely is. I have to shield a lot because certain people or moods can affect me. And as a Care Manager it really is a double edged sword at times. "

I occasionally buy a postcard and found some plain white ones among my aunt's effects when she died. I think it's just progress really. The phrase 'answers on a postcard ' already has little relevance or meaning to the upcoming generation and I doubt many people under 40 know what a telex is

Answers on a postcard were often specified by competition organisers etc as it saved them having to open envelopes

Morse (the sound variety, not lamp signalling) is still part of my communications arsenal. It has its own sub culture of abbreviations that text speak still has a lot to learn from.

Shame, sometimes, that other car drivers are unlikely to be able to read it!

Loving the old school map reading skills. Good orientation is useful for the times when you cannot rely on Google maps heh.

I usually look lost but I'm not. I have a good visual memory and remember routes well when i walk somewhere by myself. Not with people though. People are disruptive.
