Why is it that we buy overpriced food etc at Christmas, when we don't st any other time of year.

E.g peanuts. Normally people but bags of nuts, be it big or small. But because its Christmas people buy tins that are no bigger than a standard bag, but pay twice the price. Why?!

Because I think shops reduce/sell cheap Christmassy things like toys etc so they increase the cost of other things to make up for the loss in revenue ie Sainsburys 40 slice ham has been £1.49 up until last week, its now £1.69

Don't buy the expensive ones, just put the cheap ones in a tub or jar and decorate it.
